How did we ever cope with 2g?
Very few people used mobile data then, so the 2G networks could cope.  Because every bloody idiot has a smartphone now trying to gobble any available bandwidth, the mobile networks are simply buggered.

That'll be yer stupid browser. I get good stats at average page load speeds from the likes of Google, and its always sub 500mS ;)

Iirc orange had something in the order of 5 different access points just prior to 3G release.
