Title: Summer
Post by: chrisgixer on 18 May 2014, 16:08:06

So, as it's the first decadent bit of weather this year that we have both been able to enjoy, due to work commitments, she wants the garden furniture out.  ::)

what will happen is;

We (I) spend the rest of the day emptying out the shed to reach the garden furniture, clean it and the decking with the jet wash, to get the winter mildew off.

Then do the gardening. Trim the centre bed. Cut some bushes and trees back. Fill the garden waste wheely bin, then spend an hour or so looking for other recipticals  for the excess trimmings.

By which time it will be evening and time for tea. So tea in the garden, a nice meal, all while the sun goes down, and she'll spend the duration moaning its cold. The LPG in the garden heaters run out so I'll be tasked with a new bottle next week, as I'm back on shift tomorrow.

By which time the weather will have turned, it will be windy and raining and the whole lot will have to go back in the shed soaking wet so it's nice and mouldy for next year.

Why bother? ::) ;D

..... Or will we get a decent summer this year, as I suspect. (Probably not now the garden furniture is out, as has happened every year ;D )

I chose to let the weeds grow as they please, go flying and have the mrs bring up a picnic to eat on the airfield between flights.  :y

Oh, and I got my glider standard aerobatic endorsement signed off. 8)

All cheques and payments to be sent to Sir Tigger of Dorsetshire and will be greedily gratefully received!  :-* Muchas Gracias!  :y

Good. We can do the sensible thing for once then, if it's peshin down, and STAY AT HOME , instead of battling the hordes to any destination you care to mention.

I plan on doing a Basil Faulty to the Battlebus, and prepping TBE for its trip.

That's it then. Summer over. Back to the "cupboard under the stairs" of doom gloom and darkness. ::) ;D

Or is it? Nobody's commented on my prediction/guess of a decent summer this year.

Anyone? :)

You are banned from getting the garden furniture out!

This reminds me .. I saw a "Fuel Drain" (http://www.fuel-drain.co.uk/) van on the M25 near Gatwick on Sunday and thought "LD has been quiet" - although IIRC that's not your outfit. Anyhoo.. ;D

I need to buy some, was thinking of a couple of these. Folded up in garage for easy access + load of plastic chairs down side path covered up.

Been lovely here past few days, 24/25c  :o

Even today it's fairly nice, just a bit cloudy.

Yeah... Really busy at the moment. That outfit claimed not to have any vans on the road on Sunday ::)

We're now approved RAC Contractors and Green Flag have told their agents they can use us too. It's keeping us busy ;) I'm recruiting in East Sussex to get my 3rd van manned again as a matter of urgency.

Of course, we are dealing with competitors (like the aforementioned) who are making slanderous statements. Fortunately one of them was dim enough to put it in writing to our contract customers, who kindly passed it to us(!), so it's now in the hands of the lawyers ;)

He was a long way from home - the van said Herts & Essex and I was by the M23, so deepest darkest Surrey - maybe it was being used for a personal jaunt..

Still - good to hear work is keeping you busy :y
