:y :y :y
that's if you have more cylinders than doors ::) ::) ::)

Not true when you have an Omega V6 3.2! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D
But who cares :D :D ;)
-
Some truth in that, I would say.
My Omega returns about 31-32 MPG on a long run. :y
-
I think it mostly shows that the super-small engined cars spend their lives being ragged silly to try and get them to move at anything like a decent pace..
The middle ground was still the most efficient, after all..
Still, I'm still personally torn between a 1.6L X-Trail and a 3.2L Ranger but I definitely know which would be the more efficient! ;D

I've got that out of my 3.2 Omega even on a, er, brisk motorway run late at night. Once you're up to a steady cruise the weight of the car keeps it going...

Eeeuwww! ???
;) ;)

I've been thinking about big Vulvas and it's all that TaxiFellaWhoDosn'tGetOnWithFolk's fault!! :D ;D
-
She has a lexus is300 now, but when I took her previous car, a polo to work to get it mot'd at a garage over the road, it used more fuel over the same trip and the same sort of motorway speeds than my 3.2.
I can't give figures as I didn't expect to see such a difference so didn't take before, or after, notes. But even she commented on the amount the fuel gauge had gone down.
Obviously the polo was maxed out for most of the journey, yet the omega was barely woken up by the same 5am commute.
I dare say the polo is better round town, due to weight, but I don't do "town" ! Ever! ::)
-
I dare say the Polo was thrashed within an inch of it's life! :o ;D
-
It very nearly didn't survive at all. It's a bit wobbly at omega speeds. :-\

;D ;D Honestly it's a really nice car (as it's not really a 4x4) - comfortable, nippy, spec out of the wazoo including a "top down" aerial view camera giving you a view of all four corners of the car when parking, which is quite neat (for the parking challenged)..
The Ranger has bugger all spec really (not even HIDs) beside bluetooth/aircon/etc but is infinitely cooler.. probably be a nightmare to park though.

Why such a dreary choice, Mr Aaron?
Neither will get your juices flowing. :-\

Is this code for practical, dull and uninspiring? ::) ::) ;D
Release the beast within you, Aaron. :y
A TVR Griffith 500 or Westfield Seight awaits. :y :y

Juan trusts juan is talking about the Ford Ranger?
I'd love one!!!!!!!!! They do look pretty basic inside but they're beautiful on the outside. The first time i've ever looked at a truick and thought ''phwoar'' :)

Its still just a glorified lorry/Pick up truck, Mr Bear.
How much builders rubble is it able to haul?..... ::) ::) ;)
-
I'm way too fat for a Westfield, Opti :-[ :-[ Although I've sometimes wondered about asking Kev if I can try his for size, there's the distinct possibility that I might get in and never get out ;D
But yep Webby, it's the Ford Ranger - likewise I think they're really meaty looking, for want of a better term, and they're a hoot to drive (especially sideways, ahem).
Opti - 1.2tonnes in the bed (5 seat models) and 3.5tonnes on the hitch ;)

Okay......but most will never see any rubble. :)
PS...I've sat in (but not driven a Griff) and they are quite roomy for the well-upholstered among us. :y

Ps, Aaron. Am i right in thinking that the one youre looking at is the biggest engine (3.2 TDI). Called a ''Wildtrak'' i believe?
-
Anyway.... In true Texas style, a Ford Ranger is nothing without a gun rack. ;D
Shouldn't be a problem here in the UK. ::) ::) :)

Your welding skills and half a dozen loaded hunting rifles doesn't bear thinking about, Mr Bear. ;D ;D ;D

Hopefully V8 next year :) The old 1.1 pug needed a good flogging to get it moving at any pace , as said you always need to thrash the ass of the smaller cars :( Would never try an overtaking manoeuvre in it as you knew it just wasnt capable :(

Trouble is I know I should be sensible here.. I actually ordered the X-trail back in July (it still hasn't arrived yet, original delivery date was mid September!) and it's more economical, cheaper to own over three years by about £3k once you include tax, fuel, insurance and servicing..
..but the big kid in me wants the giant humungous truck ;D

Is it not enough that us dudes sacrifice our freedom for women and / or children. If we cant have the occasional thing we want whats the point!!!! ;D
Out of interest would you go for used or brand new?
What sort of cost we talking about if you dont mind me asking. i'd love one but im sure i cant afford one :-[
-
ps they do an auto version of that 3.2?

Yeah........Wottleshecostya, Mr Aaron?......... ;)
Should I be in the market for a new 'Datsun' I would go the GTR or 240Z route. :y
....actually the 370Z has a certain 'old school' appeal. :-*
-
Opti - I love the 370Z, too.. although in an ideal world a fully restored 240Z with LS series V8 would be ideal ;)

Brand new (in both cases), personal contract purchase.. they're both about £30k, although on PCP you're only financing about 50% of that, so about £360/mo..
Utterly ridiculous, but .. ;D
-
Being an old-fashioned straight six, the 370Z is the spiritual successor to the likes of the Austin Healey and Triumph TR5/6
I'll wager it's far more reliable than anything ancient and British though. :y

Well, at least you're not walking into a Datsun dealer and plonking £30,000 in cash on the counter. :y
-
240/260/270Z were the straight sixes, Opti, everything after that (Z31 300ZX, Z32 300ZX, 350Z and 370Z) are V6 ;)

Noooooo.......What is the world coming to. ;D ;D
My mistake. :-[
I still fancy one. :y

I wouldn't say no.. or a GTR, either is fine. Y'know, if you're buying ;)

If Nissan ever decide to do a BOGOF on the GTR.......I'll let you have the spare. :D :D ;)

Excellent! ;D
