Looked at;
Auto trader
Gumtree
Ebay (spit)
And the first page of results from Google.
Nothing. Apart from that Irmscher 3.2 with not tax or mot. And the blue one SMD looked at.
So how much are ours worth given the rarity. :)
-
Dunno mate. But was frequently reminded how inferior my 2.5 is by TB yesterday ::) ;D
-
Pistonheads. Nothing on there. Only got one omega. 2.0 Gls

Naturally ;D

Don't knock the estates... They're rarer than saloons from new, and as most 3.2 saloons have been exported to Ireland and ruined, buy what you can get your hands on and spend some money making it right...
-
Aye? Haven't mentioned estate?..?
I'm talking about the 3.2 engined omega. In all guises.
-
Ive been searching for the past couple of weeks at usual outlets and sometimes following random links but not a sausage.
I appreciate everyone trying to help find me a car. :y

Even RB couldn't get that for it ;)

I am thinking of converting my cars blue color to silver just because of sun, dust and rain traces and you dont accept a silver one ??? ;D
-
There's only one Omega on BCA, a 2.0 GLS facelift saloon ;D
Last 3.2 on their was a month ago or so, black saloon with 80k miles.

There is one for sale in Swindon on E-bay 3.2 Saloon in silver on a 51 plate. went to have a look at it Saturday but it needs some work, 98,700 on it when I looked at it. ends tomorrow

Is it not a 2.6 MV6 ?

Worth the money , surprised no one had paid the bin price link (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-VAUXHALL-OMEGA-ELITE-V6-AUTO-SILVER-/271649574012?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f3f938c7c)

'Tis a strange omega though ... front wheel drive and only 2 seats ??
what are "Rocker head gaskets" ?? :) my guess is cam covers .. :)
One wonders why sellers don't actually try to be accurate with their descriptions ..

No sure if this ones been posted already LINK (http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/vauxhall-omega-elite-v6-auto-32/1085562769)

Ah :y
Just noticed the mileage on it 212,000 that's worse than mine :o ;D
-
Cheap inspite of the discovered faults... What state was the body work in :-\
-
That's not the one I went to see. That one was also in blue but with half the mileage (111k) and priced at £1,195
Riddled with parking dings
Cracked rear bumper
Scuffs on drivers door sill
Scuffs on front bumper
That was what I noticed on a quick glance. I'm sure I could have spotted a lot more if I spent more than 30 seconds looking at it
No rust though
-
A new one to go and see then :y even has a years ticket...
-
Too many miles for me Al. It might not even make it through the year ;D
-
Too many miles for me Al. It might not even make it through the year ;D
The way I look at high mileage cars, They have proven themselves and if cheap why not :y
Plus to be at that mileage/age most parts would have been replaced, Where as a low milage one may still be on original parts, When looking myself I found the low milage ones where mainly dogs :-\
-
There might be a oyster one with 54,000 miles for sale soon if I get the monaro I am after. :y :y
-

While there's no fixing mileage, I think you need to lower your sites abit. Both my 3.2's needed a lot of work to get them up to scratch. And I'm not finished yet.
I've only seen two 3.2's worthy of the condition you seek. Both where sold by seven star in Slough, advertised at 5k each. Neither where Black.
Expect suspension and engine work, some body repairs with rust as a minimum, some leaks. Even on a minter.

Dink in rear bumper, cam covers still leaking lots and lots of oil on underside of gear box and mid exhaust, sat-nav does not work, just under 100k on clock, park pilot does not work, low on coolant, HID's need a polish.
New after market wishbones
very little rust
only 3 miles from me :y
-

Rubbish... If mine can manage 270k and still function, then that one should last another decade... Especially as you apparently drive like Tunnie :D

Chris - I'm not expecting a minter like Lizzie Zooms for example. Mine needed a bit of work doing to get it up to standard I was happy with. I never got it perfect, everytime I got close something else went wrong. I expect every newly purchased Omega to need wishbones and WIM (unless purchased from OOF - maybe). Mine needed a new wing mirror, roof aerial, cambelt (×2), suspension work, new tyres, brakes, cam covers etc but most importantly body and interior was near mint. No rust. I don't mind minor scratches that will polish out.
Omegaman, Al - I see your point and your probably right about most parts being replaced (everything on mine was on originals, even cam cover gaskets!) but for long term ownership it has to be a low miler. Doesn't have to be black but that is the preferred colour.
Al, I don't drive like Tunnie. I was just trying to appear normal in front of Chris. I didn't realise it would get me a bad reputation ;D
Kev, PM me when if/when you want to sell :y

So the 3.2 got to £800 odds, but that was not enough for the owner even with all that is wrong with it. When I looked at it the other Saturday he said he wanted £1200 until I pointed out all the faults and the fact that he had the wrong mileage on the add, which was then pulled and the advert with £1200 buy it now put up. So what do we all think would be a good offer :-\

I think he's being greedy :( He will never sell it for £1200 with those faults , if it didnt need anything doing then full price would be acceptable imo ::)

That's what I was thinking, it's in ok nick but needs a good going over to make it 100%, and £400 would do it, with most of that going on the bumpers being redone and trying to get hold of a NCDC 2015 that works ( it has the SIM card reader in the glovebox) to go with the CID. The rear blind just clicks when you push the button so that will need looking at. The rear shocks may need a new set too. Poly's need fitting to the new wishbones and the rear changing to Vauxhall spec.

No. £2.50. I've been telling you this for ages.

Nav drive or Autochanger? Either way can be fixed. 2015's with Omega colour bezels are quite rare in this country.

Might be a 3.2 estate for sale shortly...... :'(
-
Yet another estate :(
-
Yet another estate :(
It's a very nice Estate. :y
...and wouldn't an Eatate be a better half way house between a Zaffy and a saloon? Or did I miss (forget :( )that discussion....? :-[
-
What discussion would that be? If you can stick two extra seats in the boot it'd be halfway house. ;D
But I dislike the Zafira so much (and MPV in general) that I told my stepson he could have a bicycle ;D
What colour is your estate Mr 21? E
-
You can, iirc, put seats in the back of the Eatate. But needs a very rare conversion to do so....
.....or has Albzhiemers taken me completely?

There was a conversion kit but it's rarer than rocking horse poo. Aftermarket conversions are against regs iirc

Needs a clean and some minor fettling. Used now as a second (3rd?) car and a good seeing to would have it back to my standard.
Family circumstances sadly changing and basic costs such as tax and insurance coming into play.
Not a situation I (we) are looking forward to. Might not happen but worth a wee toe in the water.
Ho hum.....
-
Chris, I looked into this before buying the Zafira but finding a genuine one is just not possible.
Hotel21, its gold :-\ My first Omega was gold. I can't go through that again ;D Other than the colour, looks very smart. All the best :y
-
our son is saying that we cannot pass it on outwith the family so will wait and see what develops.
TBH, would not be happy to part with it. Done too much over too long and spent too much cash on it to get that back.
Lowered stiffened suspension, bushed front and rear, brakes are absolutely cock on, dry engine, gen irmscher rear box with new centre sections, two new Goodyear F1's on the rear with less than 100 miles on and two new ones in the garage for the front when they eventually fall over..
Freck me, cant actually list all that's been done to maintain and improve this over the past 5 years, without getting close to the realms of tacky.
And yes, its gold. Champaign gold metallic. One of the best colours to have to not show road grime..... ;)
