No it doesn't have bt, but you can get a car kit that utilises the steering wheel buttons, later models had bt.

For what I want, occasional use, the kit I've bought is ideal for the price.

It supports 2 phones.

The BT Personality was an option on all earlier models, and most later ones. From memory, about a £1k option :o.  I must say, it does work reasonably well though, but could be better (for example, you have to xfer your address book, it can't directly read the phone when making calls).

I bought one today as well.....tho I bet you didn't have the fun and games I did AA  :-\

The Swindon branch didn't have them on display and initially said they didn't have them, until I showed them their website saying they were in stock. Then when they did find them in the stock room, they tried to charge me £19.99....again I had to show them their website showing they were on offer at £13.xx . They sold it to me at that price  ::)

Does the parrot system work with Bose, ie. sound through the car speakers? I'm guessing not. Is there anything on the market that does?

Never looked into/taken an interest in the telematics on the Omega. How did it work exactly? The Nokia is an ancient bit of kit, can it be made to work with modern smartphones?

No, the parrot doesn't work "properly" with Bose. Any BT kit that provides aux in with a mute signal should work, fire the audio straight into the HU. I use ancient Nokia CK-7W with no issues with my gayPhones. I've used lots of phones with it, from Nokias, HTCs, crApples. Never an issue.

Only one reasonably easy way to input a third party device into bose audio is via an fm emulator.

Most of these are shockingly bad mind you, unless you get one that can be hard wired into the fm aerial. But some loss of fm signal will result.

The Harmon Kardon drive and play works well. As it has an iPod cable connection, and an aux in via 3.5 mm jack. Plus iirc Davednd does an emulator via his shop.

It's still fiddly though, as the radio needs to be tuned to the emulators signal, on a frequency that is not occupied and static free. Rds and TP must be off to prevent radio retuning to a real station. This means traffic report alerts are na.

There are ways to input to the cd changer but this takes elevtrical knowledge I don't posses.

As said elsewhere though. There is a phone pre wiring loom on 2013 but that is mono only. So only suitabke for bt phone kits.

So hard wired emulator and Nokia ck 7w (?) bt car kit are way options.

Re hk drive and play there are. Options to add a bt receiver to the aux in that I have wip currently. Should work fine though provided the phone can distinguish differant bt connections for phone and audio, which iphone 5 can. This means iphone works with bt car kit for phone with mic etc, and separate audio for music and Tomtom voice (or whatever OTHER non phone related audio comes from the device, like tv or football for passengers)

Do able, but a patch into cdc would be better I guess?

It works for phone, via mono input for phone only. But you don't need bose for that. However if you want to play music via stereo and bose proper with quality sound that bose gives, you can't, as the ONLY input to the head unit is Mono, for phone.

Unless the partot has an emulator that can be hard wired, which I don't think it does, does it?

Hi Chris,

I'm not technically knowledgable about this I'm afraid. All I know is that my phone auto connects to the parrot and it kills any music if my phone sends or receives calls and comes through all the speakers. It's crisp and clear and allows me to plug a USB stick with all my music on.

I may not have the ears to say it's perfect, but I can't tell any degradation in the music coming through it  :-\

At the end of the day, it works and it works well for me, but we all have different views on what is "quality" and I'm not going to argue with a techie who knows more. 😄

Sounds like its fitted in the standard Parrott way, but the usual mongrel audio fitters who do not understand....

If it works for you :y, but we cannot recommend it due to the potential damage the impendence mismatch may cause.  It will be fine on the Vectra-C, they are so poorly specced, the Parrott actually can drive them.

It raises an interesting point.

Over 10 years ago, when I did Internet hosting, we had loads of time sat with our thumbs up our arses, and achieved eff all, due to the incompetence of management to organise a piss up in a brewery.

At "a major well known IT company" we did fick all (to keep costs down), but had to pretend we did, and achieve nothing, due to the incompetence of management unable to organise a piss up in a brewery.

Now, back at some tinpot amateur outfit, we are running around like bluearsed flies, but incredibly inefficiently, and achieve frag-all, due to the incompetence of management, unable to organise a piss up in a brewery.
