Title: TVR pictures.
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 10 December 2014, 15:03:46
The car was literally located in the middle of nowhere and  took some finding.

Did I buy it?......NO.

£3950 was far to much too pay for this car.

I'd take the house, though. :y Would have to try some to annoy the neighbours there!

Come on, then. What were the snags?

Come on, then. What were the snags?

A blank piece of paper that said no more than ........Chassis welding £300.

Engine wouldn't rev over 3000 rpm....along with a persistent 'whine' from inside the cabin. Fuel pump...injectors???. Tickover extremely lumpy almost to the point of cutting out.

Tatty body and interior. Fibreglass 'crazed' in quite a few places.

Blowing exhaust.

All tyres below 2mm depth.

Oil pressure 50psi.......Low, I think.

MOT expired in March 2014 with a long list of advisories.

Bonnet wouldn't open fully.

Battery slow to turn over engine.

Generally unloved.

Tried ringing, Doctor Opti. If you're still interested, I've managed to get the bonnet to fully open. That being the case I think it's worth a bit more. Shall we say £4150 cash?  :y

We are fortunate to own a humble rural retreat in deepest Wales. Mainly used for holidays.

We were not so destitute in the eighties and nineties as we are now.

I do actually rate these cars.....and it was certainly far better made and more reliable than the equivalent TVR of it's day.

If only it looked more appealing.

This Scimitar really highlights how overpriced the TVR is.

I always did like the Scimitar, Henry.
