Title: Heater hoses
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 29 March 2015, 14:07:30
So I've found the cause of my sudden loss of coolant the other day...... The top heater hose popped off of the matrix!  :(

Good news that it's nothing catastrophic, but putting it back on I can't slide the ring forward and when I try and tap it forward it slips off the push fitting.  :-\  So I think that the cause was simply that I didn't fit it properly last time.  :-[

Obviously I'm keen to get it right this time, I'm thinking that the fitting should slide onto the matrix pipe with a nice clunk and then the ring should slide forward quite easily?  ???  What does the green ring do? Is it necessary?  ::)

TIA  :y

Green ring is a kind of filler piece to prevent the actual clip from compressing and therefore releasing accidentally... belts and braces, with velcro :y

Nice easy fix though :y

You'd think so. I just can't get the ring to slide forward properly as the green ring seems to be locking it. If I give it some welly, both rings come right off the fitting......  :-\

Leave it hanging on the pipe then... fairly sure mine are loose between the connection and the bulkhead, and to the best of my knowledge have never been disturbed :-\
