Passenger side door pin is rattling ::) Is this normal :-\
-
Pop the orange plug, lift off, a couple or three turns of black insulation tape around the pin, refit orange tab and refit pin...
The top edge of the tape should be level with the base of the orange tab :y

:-\ Dont think you said that last time ;D ;D ;D

I felt a more comprehensive explanation was required... :D

Yes it's not the pin rattling, but the metal rod within it. ...in most cases. :)
-
Mine rattles on the drivers side but I have Irmscher door pins fitted which uses a very small allen grub screw to grip the rod... Must be somewhere inside the door its rattling on and not the rod rattling inside the door pin...
-
It's mostly just rods and linkages inside the door so perhaps a bit of old rubber pipe wrapped around the offending area (slit down its length, foam pipe-lagging style).. if you can find it, of course, That's the hard bit :)

It's a bodge, but in your case, bending the metal rod so the pin leans back in the surround might take out the play, if it's that of course and your happy to do so. There is a felt surround inside the door card insert that can be taken apart and the felt re "fluffed up" so to speak.
If neither of those work it's likely inside the door.

I did that yesterday, blissful silence on the way to work today!
-
Nice isn't it... :)
-
....until the tape comes off when the glue melts on a hot day.
But yes, nice when it's quiet. Tyr re adjusting the felt in the surround. ;) (next time the door card is not off, probably not worth the agro otherwise)

I think ive found another rattle ::) passenger headrest area :-\
-
Mines been taped for about four years with no issue ::)
If rattle is from direction of passengers headrest from the drivers seat then probably passenger door pins...
Would have done all four personally ::)
-
Plus if being pedantic to that level, arguably ::) ;D the red tab will get damaged slightly on removal. Just make people aware.
-
You don't need to remove the tab... You can also remove the door card and unscrew the pin... But why complicate things ;D

Because.... The red tab will get damaged. ::) ;D
-
;D I guess then the real question is which would be more annoying... ::)
-
Depends if the owner can wait until the door card needs to come off.
...then replace the door motor, as the guide, and completely forget about the rattling poxy door pin ;D

I managed to keep mine completely unmarked - which is unusual!

What did you use? I find a knife gives best odds.

That was going to be my next question :( I used a stanley blade .. seems its not that though .
The passenger seat is rattling when no one sits in it ::)

Check the two screws under the rear pocket panel and that the four seat bolts are secure :y

Don't get me started on rattles an squeaks ;D
Have had all kinds on the FL Elite while most are now cured a few remain here's a few over the years I've found.... Centre air vents, rear seat belts, arm rest, steering column, drivers air vent/housing, transmission handle/sports mode button, glovebox, creaking rubber when windy passenger drivers door area, cd multi-changer metal plate something there rattles and it's not the plastic 4-stack holder, ummm that's about it :o... Saying that I'm ultra fussy about rattles so I'm told anyway ::)

How did you stop the transmission handle?
-
You can't really as the rattle is likely the selector release cable :-\
This runs through the handle shaft...

Didn't get round to sorting that out and tbh, Anyway it seems to have got better over time.
This stuff came in handy for most rattles...
