Ordered something from an indie automotive company today, already on it's way, this was the dispatch email:
Hi tunnie,
Your product has been gently taken from our shelves with soft cotton gloves and placed on a cushion for its journey to the packing area.
A team of 4 packers thoroughly inspected your item and polished it to ensure it is in the best possible condition before beginning the packing process.
Our packing specialist from Sweden lit a scented candle and demanded silence from everyone in the office. A perfect ambiance is required to allow him to achieve packaging perfection.
Once completed, we all had a wonderful celebration and the team marched to the delivery company, waving and spreading good cheer as we journeyed through Swansea. Everyone applauded, shouted Bon Voyage! and hugged one another as the van left.
Your parcel is being cared for by DPD Carrier Service. It should be with you within 1 working day.
;D ;D ;D ;D

Bet the box is battered... :D
-
That's so annoying I want to ring them up and cancel the order for you!
-
Fancy going to all that trouble.....and then giving it to DPD.
-
What was the item, an non OEM Crank Sensor, They obviously know how temperamental they can be.
-
Not just any dispatch

If you are not in to receive it Tunnie don't worry the driver will always throw it over the nearest wall\fence 😀😁😂

Sorry, in my experience DPD are absolutely brilliant. You can set your watch by their delivery times.
Seriously. I get an email saying "James or Fred or or whoever" will deliver between 13.32 and 14.32. I wait on the doorstep at 13.33 and the van pulls up. Every time :y

Have to agree there, excellent service. As you say gives you an exact slot, you can see on a map exactly where their driver is too. Never had any issues personally, but I will prob regret saying that now.

Exceuse me gents, but this is OOF where we are morally obliged to slate all courier companies. Any praise of one is in breach of the site rules I am pretty sure ::)

Fixed that for accuracy, Matt ;)

That is brilliant. The joys of living in a first world country.
Here in Spain the experience is just the opposite. You can see on tracking that goods arrive very quickly to our local delivery companies then it goes downhill. Just some of the excuses we get(despite each package having our correct Postal address and phone number on) are:
Incorrect address , sent back to vendor.
Only deliver to your area on Tuesdays and Fridays
We compromise and agree to meet the driver at a landmark in the local town 10 minutes away. Which rather defeats the point.
Amazon do Prime where for an annual payment of about £12, on their products you get next day delivery by 4p.m. Presumably they use drones because it won't be any courier company currently operating here. ;D

Hmmm, bit like the Internet around here then. ::)

That's a technique developed by Parcelfarce's breakless, lazy, incompetent, unreliable, over-paid oxygen thieves
-
According to Trust Pilot Yodel received 1.5/5 from 329 reviews.
82% of which were 1 star. :-\
Puts me in mind me of what my headmaster used to write at the bottom my end of term report....."Must do better" :) ;)
-
I moan quite a bit about
everything these couriers but, TBH, they have all improved over the last year or so. I have had deliveries from yodel, dpd, hermes and dhl with no problems.
-
Don't include parcelfarce in that, they are shite. Only this week received an item from eBay which was wrapped well enough to bounce off the wall, but the contents were still shattered.

A spot on Grumpy old man awaits. :)

I rate DPD too :y
The drivers always leave the parcel where I ask them to... :y
Actually, DPD knocked on my door today, I wasn't expecting them to....as what I ordered, the supplier said it would get delivered by Royal Mail.....it was only a mobile sim card in a jiffy bag ;D
-
DPD aren't bad, in fact I have 2 parcels coming from them tomorrow.
UPS have been good lately too :y
