He must be missing my wit and charm terribly. :)
-
And he's clearly loving it.
As would we :)

I'm concerned the old boy may have been lowered into a hole in the ground. He is/was at that age. :)
-
Very unusual for him not to be on here, what or who has upset him ?

Joking aside, I can't imagine "delete my OOf profile" would be top of his requests if he was to pass...

A few weeks back (cant remember the thread) Hotel 21 posted about how his approach to life changed after having a massive heart attack while on duty as a copper. I then posted a similar story about a mate of mine who was also a copper and had a very similar experience, and has since become a very chilled out person, when he was previously highly strung.
STEMO posted below my post " Thankyou both", which seemed slightly odd.
He deleted his account not long after that.
Make of that what you will. :-\

You mean he's joined the Police :o Is he really Alex Boniface on that current Police documentary.
Seriously, hope the old boy is OK.

Maybe he suddenly decided it was time to live life more, rather than soending quite a lot of it on here taking the piss out of Lord Opti ?

Oh I remember that thread very well , as I also said that due to being placed on the " vunerable" list that I had decided to retire completely rather than contracting Covid 19 through working in the Prison environment.

He often buggers off during the summer hollibobs... :-\
I mean who wouldn't if it meant being able to spend the whole school summer break with tother half if they spent the rest of the year working 60+hour weeks :-\
I have to agree with Albs though that his last post was out of character...
-
Uncle STEMO's t'other half is half his age I think? ??? :)
So maybe he saves his strength during the year for the summer holidays when he hasn't the time for taking the piss out of Lord Opti! ;)
Let's hope he's just gone AWOL for a bit and isn't MIA! ;D

Nothing in the Wakefield notices :y

I believe she is forty years his junior.........but not from Thailand. :)
-
I actually think I know . . .
He won The Lottery, had a brand new Omega hand built from scratch, along with a beach front house in Antigua. Moved there with his Mrs and a carefully selected bevy of beauties (with Mrs approval) and a few whippets. And couldn't give a toss what you all think.
But if not, I hope all is well

I do miss his pisstakes 8)

Busy being dead probably. A quick squirt into some young firm flesh could well prove too much for the old boy. :D
-
.......having said the above.
If she gets a glimpse of his of his scouse pants she'll be on the first flight home to Bangkok. :)

Since he "left" Lizzie has also gone very quiet :-* :-* :-X

I have been using a few bath towels recently, but to wipe myself down during the very humid conditions down here ;)
As for the boat people.................. just ridiculous.......the French do it again to us! ::) ::) :-X :-X
But, where is Steve?!
He is missed, as his Liverpudlian humour often really cheers me up. I hope he is ok :( :( :(
-
Ahh there’s one half back then :y :y
-
I dont think he is going to be back this time tbh.
As for the French. Im surprised that anyone is surprised. The real problem is our Govt. being extremely weak, inept and naive.
Boris is a Poundshop Churchill and Pritti Patel is a Pounshop Thatcher. They talk the talk, but thats the easy part.
The Govt. have booked up a hotel for the rest of this year, 5 minutes away from where Im sat, to house the recent Dover arrivals.
Its right in the middle of of Patels constituency. ::)
There are many more hotels all over the country which they have also booked up for the whole year.
Its beyond disgraceful. >:(
-
Perhaps he's on the beach at Dungeness welcoming all the new arrivals. He'd better be quick, as it's supposed to be getting windy by the weekend. :D I miss the old bugger,s acerbic wit though. :(
-
Anybody got a tickling stick to Intice him out :o
-
I have no idea what's up with him, but this forum is pretty damned dull without him.
Few of us have Omegas any more, so the common link is disappearing. There are few common interests, so not a lot to discuss.
Most are of a fairly similar political opinion. But anyway there are many other platforms on which to give vent to politics. Politics always ends up getting nasty anyway.
Hmmmmm . . . . OK
Let's discuss . . . . . . . . . . . ?

Well I have an omega. I have politics. I have Netflix.
I was watching the first series of The Fall. And it's set in Belfast, where apparently the chief constable, is driven around in a 2.6 V6 Opel Omega, which has its bonnet badge taped over.
It's set in about 2015 I guess, so i don't think the police would still have any omega, Opel or Vauxhall by then
It was very strange. It made me think the storyline wasn't realistic either.
-
I believe that you will find it to be fiction ;D
Also, you'd be surprised what some forces have stuffed at the back of the garage ;)

Yes a couple of years ago I spotted a Vectra join the M5 southbound near Bridgwater in my mirrors and there was something about the way it merged into the traffic made me think Police. As it went by me sure enough there were two uniformed traffic cops in it. The Avon & Somerset Constabulary plain clothed Vectra was an 03 plate. :o :)

About 3 years ago on my way to Lincoln I saw an O4 plate Mondeo V6 still being used for Police advanced driving tuition driver & 3 up looked in fantastic condition.

PSNI still had Omegas in service long after other forces had replaced them. Couldnt verify whether they still had any in 2015 though.
Should be able to find out, if I remember.

Yes......he'll have more time for walking the whippet and watching it take a dump....

We had an 03 Octavia that outlasted half of the staff... I think it lasted about ten years before they remembered to sell it.

I was thinking of the £50 VW Polo that was my mates first car, bought for my Bro for his first car, then used by me for a year and sold for £200. With almost 200k on it.
I remember the MoT bloke saying that he refused to fail it on emissions because although it looked like a total piece of shit, nothing else was wrong with it ;D

I've presented some horrible looking things for MOTs, that have passed because any time I spent on them was making them work. That's done by actually fixing faults, rather than just fiddling with them, and doing the maintenance. The tester said he could always recognise if I'd had anything to do with a Capri, because the back brakes worked properly.
It's how it's still possible to run a 40 year old car as a daily. After all, that's all they were when new. learning how to operate machinery sympathetically helps too.

Don't go saying that on Jag forums, you'll be banned.
The more expensive and exotic the polish used, the more reliable the car will be.

It's not exclusive to forums: traditionally if you said to a DIYer "presumably the other side went quicker because you knew how to do it" or "why did you buy a used whatsit, when a new one is only £11?" they look at you as if you're some sort of pervert. Then they complain that they're always having to fix the thing because it's unreliable ???
