I'll risk the fine, I'm not throwing all of my expensive skirts away.
-
The Police won't do anything about it, I followed a cop car last night and it passed three deliveroo riders on bikes with no lights or reflectors, a car with tail lights out, and a Taxi going the wrong way up a one way street, it didn't even so much as flinch!

Yes, they are just not interested in the paperwork, especially if Dunkin Donuts is open.

Why skirts ? ???
And sometimes sunglasses are an important safety aid, so you can see where your going.

You'd have to read the article, Albs ;D

Cant be arsed. ;D

Which is a load of click bait shite, btw ::)
I'm sure most people already know that sunglasses in the dark, shoes with platform soles and skirts that squeeze your knees together don't make for a safe driver.

Wasn't Sunglasses in the dark the title of Roy Orbison's greatest hits album?

Probably, and Chris Rea's 'Driving home for Christmas in platform soled boots' was a good'un too.

New light through tinted windows :)

What a load of rubbish! ::) ::)
Yes, the police have so much time on their hands to stop people driving to check the clothing they are wearing, that cannot be seen anyway, and start filling in more paperwork?! Of course they don’t and will not. If an accident can be proved to have been caused by what the person was wearing, maybe the police will take action, but even then I doubt it!
I have always driven in skirts and heels all my driving life and have never had a problem. I certainly will not be changing anything over such tosh ;D ;)

I have prescription sunglasses, does that mean I am not allowed to wear them. :-\
-
As for slippers (Common sence not to wear them) but how many people drive in bare feet? Most women I know take off thier heels and drive bare footed.

Not in the dark, unless they're photochromatic. You'd have to be an idiot to wear fully darkened ones at night, but you know that already, you're just trying to provoke indignation.

Got to be safer than trying not to snag a 6" heel in the carpet. I believe barefoot driving s illegal in some Australian states.
Obviously in a crash shoes will better protect your feet than flip flops or nothing if the pedals are displaced.

Did I ever mention I got a tug when driving, I think they wanted to work out why I was wearing 3 parts of sod all ;D
He sent me on my way, laughing his head off about the sequence of events that lead up to said, sorry tug...

Sounds like a tale for telling over a curry :D

I recently saw a copper turn round to stop a car coming from the opposite direction that had a headlight out ...that was just gone 5 in the morning so perhaps he was bored.

I drive in flip flops during the summer .... the comment about soles needing to 10mm min is bo11ocks, I doubt that the sole on my proper footwear is anything like 10mm ... but I use 2 feet too & I got told off for that on a speed awareness practical

Using both feet is fine ,left one for the clutch , right one for the go and stop :D
-
My left foot is for the parking brake, as my right one can't get high enough from the other side of the footwell :D

I don't recall the last time I used either foot to put the HAND-brake on :P

Clearly never owned a proper car then :P

Why would I OWN a poorly designed car that doesn't even have a handbrake ;D

Parking brake / emergency brake / are correct terms. Handbrake is just a nickname really. :)

Well that's silly. When I put my hand brake on at the lights, I have no intention of parking there and it's certainly not an emergency :P

I cant drive in flip flops, so if I find myself in that position, I tend to drive bare foot. Which will upset the misinformed do-gooders.

I don't have a foot operated 'parking brake anymore .... just hand brakes & a leccy one :y

It was always said with 3 pedal vehicles you must put your handbrake on so if you accidentally slip your foot off the brake or clutch pedal you would not shoot forward into the vehicle or person in front. If I remember correctly, way back, you would fail your driving test if you held the car too long at red lights with your foot brake and hovering clutch ;)

Clutch : a mechanism for connecting and disconnecting an engine , or the working parts of any machine.
there's loads of em in them new-fangled "auto" cars :D

Why do you put the hand brake on at the lights? ::)
Because I have mechanical sympathy and put the box into neutral if the wait is more than 10 seconds or so ::)

I always put handbrake on and engage neutral when i stop at lights, crossings etc. Something that i,ve done since i started driving in the 1960s. :)

there's no problem holding a car on the brakes .... it's those that sit holding the car on a hill with the clutch or with the clutch dipped (thrust race) (which I suppose it what I do with my Smarts with their automated manuals ::))

I was taking the p*** really as my proper car is a proper slushbox auto & at lights I use its 'HOLD' option ;) ... the hand/emergency brake is only used when parked up on a hill - saves Paul holding it. ;D
I occasionally use the handbrake on my Smarts when stationary at lights etc

Mine's a proper slushbox, but I still put it in neutral.
