As for slippers (Common sence not to wear them) but how many people drive in bare feet?  Most women I know take off thier heels and drive bare footed.
Got to be safer than trying not to snag a 6" heel in the carpet. I believe barefoot driving s illegal in some Australian states.

Obviously in a crash shoes will better protect your feet than flip flops or nothing if the pedals are displaced.

Did I ever mention I got a tug when driving, I think they wanted to work out why I was wearing 3 parts of sod all ;D

He sent me on my way, laughing his head off about the sequence of events that lead up to said, sorry tug...

The Police won't do anything about it, I followed a cop car last night and it passed three deliveroo riders on bikes with no lights or reflectors, a car with tail lights out, and a Taxi going the wrong way up a one way street, it didn't even so much as flinch!

I recently saw a copper turn round to stop a car coming from the opposite direction that had a headlight out ...that was just gone 5 in the morning so perhaps he was bored.

I drive in flip flops during the summer .... the comment about soles needing to 10mm min is bo11ocks, I doubt that the sole on my proper footwear is anything like 10mm ... but I use 2 feet too & I got told off for that on a speed awareness practical

My left foot is for the parking brake, as my right one can't get high enough from the other side of the footwell :D

Parking brake / emergency brake / are correct terms. Handbrake is just a nickname really.  :)

Well that's silly. When I put my hand brake on at the lights, I have no intention of parking there and it's certainly not an emergency  :P

I cant drive in flip flops, so if I find myself in that position, I tend to drive bare foot.  Which will upset the misinformed do-gooders.
