Latest… illegal immigrants jump A&E Queues undocumented migrants to be seen within 15 mins apparently 🤬
-
"Yet here at UCLH, there is one way you can get seen earlier. Indeed, for certain members of society, you can get assessed in just 15 minutes.
That privilege goes to undocumented migrants, as well as the homeless and drug addicts, according to its website. Under a scheme called 987 Inclusion Health, patients within those categories needing an “urgent” assessment can ask for an appointment at A&E and be bumped up the queue on arrival. After initial tests, they are taken directly to a consultant for a “more thorough evaluation”."

One of our neighbours had to go to our local casualty a few days before Christmas he said it was like being in a foreign country, the signs on the walls are in various languages & one translates into no spitting on the floor , what a dumping ground the UK has become.

Yup. The worst part is, it's gone too far, we're never going back.

Unlike some of the migrants, who allegedly popped back home for Christmas to the place they’d fled from, if the stories we hear are correct.
You couldn’t make it up could you.

We really are the laughing stock of the world, come to the UK & take the piss out of everyone who has served their country & worked for their right to live here, I'm glad I'm old, god only knows what's in store for my grandsons.

Old🤣yes that’s what a lot of us here are. No worries we’ll soon be out of it all🤣🤣🤣

Speak for yourself mate! ;D

I dont see any reason why people who live in the UK but werent born here cant be made to carry identity cards.
Then the authorities would have some chance of actually finding out who should and shouldnt be in the country, which would be a start, compared to where we are now.
I have a suspicion though that the authorities dont actually want to know. If they knew the size of the problem they might actually have to try and do something about it.

Dead right mate👍👍

On the plus side most would be used to carrying an I’d card at all times. We are all required to do so in Spain . You get used to it. Never been asked for it except to show who I am when buying/ ordering stuff. Or completing forms.
I remember years ago being at the dentist and an immigrant was asked for her Nat insurance number and produced a handful of cards with different numbers on them. The receptionist actually grabbed them and challenged her. That probably illustrates the problem. If people can get forged passports they could get basic I’d cards easily. Our new ones have many layers of security including fingerprints.
There has never been an appetite for challenging folk in the uk by all political parties. They need the cheap labour and the income tax. I wish they started though with car washes and Turkish barbers.

They do this elsewhere, but it does automatically allow access to the system. That said, here they get that perk without being traceable, so perhaps there's mileage to the concept.

How? If the idea is to stop illegal immigrants gaining access to NHS services, then unless you make everyone carry ID, they'd just claim to be British (and thus not need ID) and we'd be no further forward.
Also remember, Boris Johnson wasn't born "here", Joanna Lumley wasn't born "here", and I'm sure lots of other prominent UK residents were not born here either.

Being born somewhere, or not, is largely irrelevant. Presumably the people you mentioned reside in the UK legally.
Identity cards would imply some form of formal registration of otherwise undocumented people. Although you might argue that with formal registration comes DNA and fingerprint databases for everyone at the point of registration. Most people would be just as wary about that as they are about the idea of literally stopping the boats rather than encouraging them.

Migv6 said "I dont see any reason why people who live in the UK but werent born here cant be made to carry identity cards.". The people I listed fall into that category.

But how does it stop someone accessing the NHS or other services, unless everyone must have that ID? Even then, Doctors, Nurses and Ambulance people don't want to be checking ID's before offering A&E care, so to do that you'd end up introducing yet another layer of non productive managment and admin types into the NHS structure.

Fine, swipe your card to get into the building or join the queue around it.

So you are advocating that everybody - legal or illegal, born here or born abroad - be issued with an ID card which gives them access to UK services? And must be carried at all times under penalty (of what)?
Can't see any govt going for that.

Digital ID, with our carbon quotas and a Chinese style social credit score is on its way. :)

Both Labour and Tory Governments would love to do it, but the population as a whole would be unlikely to stand for it.
Blair tried it, but even he, with his out of control megalomania realised he couldnt get away with it.
If at some point they deem the population has been sufficiently softened up enough, they will do it in a heartbeat.
You make a fair point. In practical terms it would be a difficult thing to implement for non UK national residents succesfully, but I would love to see it done somehow.
Its a pipedream though. Those who could at least attempt something along those lines have demonstrated repeatedly over the last 25 years that they are happy with how things are.
Perhaps something like this might work ? -
1. UK citizens need to provide their health number when using health services .
2. Those not born here and havent been granted citizenship but have a right to remain carry ID cards until such time as they might become citizens.*
3. Anyone who has no legal right to be here can be given emergancy life saving treatment, but then transferred to some kind of prison and kept there until they admit where they came from so they can be deported to there, or somewhere (anywhere) else, if country of origin isnt possible for some reason.
*People not UK born but granted citizenship will have citizenship cancelled and be deported if they commit serious crimes.
I would imagine for any of the above to happen the UK would need to withdraw from the juridiction of the ECHR as a starting point.

They would absolutely love to do just that, but there would probably be civil war if they tried to implement it.

Fair point and there's still alot of people running around with masks on. No one ever gave it a second thought before 2020.

If they decide to impose compulsory ID on us, whether old fashioned ID cards or more likely Digital ID, we'd grumble about our civil liberties and maybe there would be a protest march or two, but ultimately the majority will suck it up. ::)

I feel like I'm being cancelled/gas-lit/dog-whistled. Who do I complain to and what letter do I need to claim to be (gender wise) in order for anyone to take my complaint seriously?
