Title: Favourite other forums
Post by: Martin_1962 on 11 July 2006, 23:16:20
OK which other forums have you used or use regularly.

One I like and use quite a bit is www.avforums.com which as far as I know is the busiest UK forum anywhere.

It is the official forum of a large number of specialist magazines and has tens of thousands of users - I am in the top 200 for posts with well over 3000.

So please list your favourites and let us have a little about it.

I have used the mg-rover one, never really got much of a response.  My father-in-law asked about changing a 218D clutch there, and got a 'buy a workshop manual and some axle stands' reply :(  - I think he's considering buying a Vauxhall now, due to the extra help available :D

well i can understand that, not as a proper answer, but as an answer that would be given.

Its a bit hit and miss on there, sometimes you can get an excellent comprehensive answer, othertimes a thread can fade off the first page without a reply.....

Been a lot better in recent months, with all due respect to all on the rover forum, it doesnt have the same strength of knowledge and warmth of the guys on here and formerly VxON.

Now i take it that clutch on the rover is resolved ? ;)

If I want to know something about my car then this one is and always will be my first port of call.
The expertise and experience of omega's is pretty incredible imo  :y

For blowing away the cobwebs of a shitty day and letting my self rip a little, its got to be football forums.
Prefer the ones were anything goes and people don't whine or burst into tears when you tell a naughty joke, upset them or call them a rude name  :)
