if the clutch gives up during driving it is possible to change gear witout it, its complicated but possible.

but it will start slipping before it will breake down. so try running at 90km/h in 3. gear and then suddenly floor it.. thats the highest tourge you can put on the clutch, if it doesent slip keep on driving..

how expensive is it to have a mechanic change?

Lets face it, the 2,5v6 is a bit underpowered considering its size (displacement).

so im considering the superchargerway, mostly because averybody else uses turbo.

but now i need some pros and cons. I know its a big rebuilt, but I think im up for the challenge (yes im a mechanic).

so far ive come to this:

stronger rods (possible from a saab or custom made)
lower compresion (+3mm steel head gasket)
eaton m62 or m90 supercharger (max pressure 0,5bar boost controlled)
intercooler from wv transport tdi
ecu remap
engine coolant thermostat max temp 70 degrees celcius
elektric waterpump (to keep the water flowing faster)
headers from bestmufflers.com
cams from 3,0v6
steel pressure pipes.
5w30 sunoco/valvoline racing oil for the engine.

THE GOAL. 280 - 320hp and whatever  torgue it brings hopefully over 300nm

brakes, supesion and so on is already converted to steinmetz kompressor specifikations.

have I forgotten anything?

235/45-17 rear tirees on 8,5" steinmetz st1 et 25 rims fits perbreakt on the car when lowered 40mm

3,0 cams in a 2,5 + ecu remap = approx 210hp (it was 208,6 in my old omega with 290.000km on the clock)

I have seen some omegas with bmw rear diff, for examble a bmw 325i E46 has lsd. to mount this you will need to have a special made propellerchaft (the one that connects the gearbox to the rear diff) and some special made drive schafts. in denmark this conversion can be made for around 2000kr + the price of a bmw rear diff..

its worth a thought. otherwise you need to find a old omega policecar with manual gearbox
