How is it that, as a mature man, I found myself unable to say.. ‘Just put him out of his misery’ ?
Why do the words ‘put him down’ change into ‘just do what you have to do’ between leaving my mouth and reaching the vets ears.
Twice now in the last 2 years I have been awoken from my sleep, by my daughter, on a SUNDAY morning to be told the cat needs to go to the vets.
Being a man, of course I do not react to such suggestion, but had not even managed a cup of tea before swmbo and daughter had managed to speak volumes without saying a word. I found myself agreeing that the cat needs to be seen and head for the phone, Sunday, emergency call out!!!!!! And I still had to take him to the surgery.
Paid the bill today, £167.47, better than the £324.00 I paid 2 years ago.
The dog we have insured, the cat, a moggy from a rescue centre, I didn’t bother with.
Well it was that or leave home...................
