General Car Chat / Tyre question alert
« on: 03 October 2015, 11:38:16 »
Given that i'm not that impressed with Dunlop Sport Maxx RT's (235/45/17 XL), especially when they hit 5mm, what are other people running of the same level (ie. not budget tyres)?

Does anyone have a good / excellent condition one? One on the 2.6 looks a bit shabby and scratched.

This is a for a facelift V6 and has the screw fittings rather than the early clip ones.

Cheers

General Car Chat / Modified SL pump bracket for LPG ECU?
« on: 30 August 2015, 17:28:43 »
Anyone ever attempted this?

I was looking at the possibility of butchering one and bending the frame so it sits vertically rather than horizontally, obviously to do that you would lose the outermost fixing so it would just be bolted to the chassis rail.

Any thoughts?

In good working order please.  :y

I have two here I really should repair, but the last time I tried to prize the casing off one I ended up launching it at the nearest wall!

General Car Chat / LPG Kit Suppliers
« on: 08 August 2015, 18:26:45 »
Who is the best supplier of the Stag 300 kits now? As I understand it, Telio has gone out of favour with OOF a little?

Want to make sure I'm not paying too much for the kit as I've found a couple of suppliers but really don't know how much these kits should be retailing for.

Just the circuit board will do. No fussed about switches needing replacing or battery carrier needing re-soldering, as long as the board actually works and no one has previously repaired it.  :y

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / WANTED: Facelift MV6 bumper
« on: 12 June 2015, 22:44:46 »
Good condition please with towing eye cover.

Mesh, Foglights, temp sensor, loom and Washer jets not important as I already have them.

Have seen the one on Ebay but just seeing if there is another one out there, Z20R paint would be nice but not essential.

Many thanks

General Car Chat / Big Thanks to Essex Big Al

For supplying an excellent set of late Elite textured leather seats to replace the worn out set in my 2.6 (drivers seat sags and the beaded edge is coming away, heaters had started to melt though the back of the leather on both from seats). He even fitted them for me as well!!!

Also picked up a length of loom from injector loom plug back to the ECU so I can make up a pluggable LPG loom as well as the B pillar trim that was falling off mine!

Cheers Al

Much appreciated.  :y

General Discussion Area / New Hoover - Dog compatible!
« on: 22 March 2015, 12:50:01 »
Anyone have any recommendations for a decent hoover that can cope with mountains of dog hair?

Our Sprollie (Springer Collie X) is losing its winter coat and our two old Hoovers tend to block up halfway through hoovering a room.

Omega General Help / Squeak from rear suspension
« on: 05 March 2015, 19:56:25 »
I think it's actually the rear dust shields / handbrake return springs - when handbrake applied the rear squeaks when the suspension moves. ie when I get out of the car.

Is there a fix for this? I tried gently bending the dust shields and popping some grease on the springs but noise persists.

Maintenance Guides / Scuttle Sealing - Photo
« on: 12 February 2015, 17:45:39 »
Here's where you seal the scuttle (scuttle removed) to stop it dripping water onto the N/S of the engine / dispack etc. I've just used some Loctite grey sealant as it was handy. You'll need to scrape the remains of the foam off this area and the corresponding part of the scuttle.
