Omega General Help / Dead locking

My passenger side door lock solenoid has been playing up for a few weeks and last night I made the mistake of dead locking the car. This morning I can't open the door and don't want to rip to door card off because its a cream one and hard to come by. Any suggestions?

General Car Chat / Passat Tdi advice

My old man has a 57 plate 2.0 Tdi Passat with 61,000 miles on the clock and full service history. He received a letter off VW notifying him of a recall for an injector problem so he took the car in for the work to be completed. He's just had a call from VW saying some of the cam followers have collapsed and because they will have to remove the head to sort the problem there will be a £1400 bill 
.
I've told him to tell them to put it back together again and i'll tow it home for him. Does anyone know, apart from if the followers have started to fall apart, why would the head need removing?

I will be breaking a 2.2 DTI on Wednesday. The car has covered 116,000 miles and runs well. The only problem is there is a leak in the fuel system (fuel feed and return on top of tank has corroded)

I have the chance to buy a mint 3.2 51 plate Elite saloon with just 66,000 miles and full service history and it's mint, however the car has had a small bump and requires a wing, bumper and headlight. The problem is, for some reason its a Cat C. So what should I do, repair it and sell it or break it for spares. Would the fact its a cat C put people off? I would take before and after pics so anyone interested could see how slight the damage is, so what do you all think?

Really slow internet, regular power cuts to the point where i'm going to use car batteries and LEDs for some emergency lighting and to top it off no water this morning

A chipped 3.0 ECU, Pick up and 2 key chips. This will give approximately 10% more BHP. The chip will bring on the engine management light if the ignition is left on and the engine not started straight away, the car will run fine though and all you have to do is turn the ignition off and on again and start the car straight away. There is no engine management light if the car is started straight away £40 posted

Its that time of year again and i'd like to thank all of my forum friends old and new for making last year so entertaining.
