I have moved house a total of 16 times before I joined up, 5 times since then.  I have lived in 4 different countries and 6 different counties.

What to call home other than England?  :y

Have lived in Spain for 7 years. Don't consider it home but wouldn't want to move back to the Uk.

North Yorkshire is "home" only been back twice in 7 years. Might go again this Spring......

Have to say a fat NO for me Pete.

I was live not far from where I was born.  And to be honest, the whole place has gone to the dogs as far as I'm concerned and we're now living in what I can only call "bloody Chav Central".  >:(

All the old places that I used to knock around with mate on our bikes (push bikes) years ago and were we could hang around without someone crying out "youths are causing Anti-Social Behaviour" for just standing and chatting, have all but gone.  Most of the reason for the Council having done what they call 'regeneration' of the area!  And most of the area now is covered by industrial or housing estates, so the green meadows are slowly becoming into single figures I expect.  :-\

Because the area has expanded so much so quickly I couldn’t say today where the boundary starts of my area and where it stops!  :o

I dont tend to dwell on it,but when I go back to Belfast and occasionally have a wander around the town centre it does still feel like home to a certain extent. Only thing that spoils it is the fact that a lot of it has changed so much over the years, but being Belfast I think it was as much by circumstance than design. ::)

Got myself all dewey eyed now. ::) ;D

My paternal grandparents and their associated family (whatever that means as I have zero interest in such matters (to my shame) lived in the village where I'm presently situated as far back as the early 19th century up to the middle of the 20th - in a dwelling just down the road from this house as it happens, so in a sense I have 'come home'.

It makes opps-all difference to me as I hate this place with a vengeance, viscerally so in fact, to the extent that I never feel home again until I'm back in London.

I don't feel particularly attached to anywhere as "home", though I spent the longest time growing up in a little village outside York.. haven't bothered to go back in 15 years, though!

On an unrelated note - Den, who is the avatar du jour?

Born and bred in Louth, Lincs for 34 years. Left 10 years ago to live in Lincoln. Never been back  ::)

But, have always felt at home in North Yorkshire. I have no ties with NY nor I thought any family links. After speaking to my Dad (a Hullite) I discovered my very distant ancestors came from North Yorkshire

Now that's weird ....... :-\

Ah , the myth of return.....
I'll always be Scottish and indeed couldn't tell you the news in Ireland but watch BBC Scottish news morning ,noon and night but I couldn't live back in my home town area , nooo sir .
Have been back several times in last two years due to bereavement but Jesus what a grimy place full of sullen faces ....
Happy here thank you. :y

Glad your back home Pete , good luck.
