General Discussion Area / Truss' speech
« on: 05 October 2022, 13:13:34 »
I thought Liz did really well in her speech at conference, only heckled by two stupid green bints. The audience seemed to be right behind her, which, I much admit, is surprising. I like her, maybe not because she will be the one to lead the country out of the shit we are in, but because I believe that she believes. Boris was good at talking, but his agenda depended on who he'd spoken to last. I think Liz will try to stick to her agenda. That all depends on how many self interested back stabbers crawl out from under their rocks.
The BBC, of course, will focus on the couple of minutes of protest, but that's because they are a bunch of Marxists.

Olivia Pratt-Korbel: Man charged with schoolgirl's murder https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-62663145

At last. I reckon there'll be a lot more charged over this one.

General Discussion Area / Words that make you cringe
« on: 28 September 2022, 21:17:38 »
There are certain words that conjure up horrific images in your mind. I was watching a hospital programme on telly earlier and there was a fella who's big dog had made a break for it, while he had the lead over his hand and around his wrist. He was 'de-gloved' on one hand. De-gloved....yuk 🫢🤢🤮

Since the beginning of the month, Brent crude has fallen almost 20%. I haven't seen much of a reduction at the pumps

1295 illegal migrants (or just migrants according to the BBC), crossed the channel yesterday. I could rant about shooting the bastards or driving then back, but I've totally given up. It's become a daily reality, and my focus now is to get as far north as possible when Mo retires.

Is it me, or has this government completed lost it's grip on reality? I just can't believe what I'm reading sometimes.

General Car Chat / Vauxhall pink
« on: 21 August 2022, 12:47:06 »
Wife's drivers door has turned Vauxhall pink, quite noticeable compared to front wing and rear door. Will a T Cut or wax bring it back, or is it gonna stay that way? Thanks.

Someone wants to shoot that stupid old cow. Deliberate provoking the Chinese at this moment in time is reckless in the extreme.

Went to Junction 32 retail park this aft. Mrs wandered into Next saying, "We could do with a new sofa, and they have some good ex displays in here". Saw one (which, I admit, was good value) at £990, reduced from £2750. Decided we'd have it, found a young shop assistant and went off to pay. Debit card in machine, £990 debited, lovely jubbly.
Not quite. "When are you picking it up?". "What?" Here are the business cards of two local companies who will pick it up and deliver it. It has to be gone in two days.
No mention of this before we paid, manager called. 'dangle berries' the young assistant for not telling us and asks if we'd like a refund. Yes, please, I'm not ringing the local man and van, hoping he can fit me in. I thought this was Next, not Joe's Junk Shop.
Refund given, that will be back in your bank within a week. Mrs wants to know why I'm walking around the shops with a fūckin face on me. >:(

Drove down to Bognor Regis this aft (sat nav didn't like the look of the M25, so took us past some place called Brackley) in wifey's Astra. Mostly motorway but a few A and B roads. 65.3mpg over 250 miles.
Don't say you're not jealous, Opti.
