General Discussion Area / Dvr admin password problem

Yesterday, I had a nice shiny new 16 way DVR delivered and off I trotted to make some money out of some poor helpless customer 

The venue for this place is a community centre and at the time, it was been used for a birthday party for about 50 screaming little bastards  children.

While changing the various passwords to my own, half of these little bastards children came bursting through the office door, ran around then pished off out of the other door.
Now here is the good bit ............. At the time, I was changing the Admin password using a on screen keypad and mouse.
The new password was saved and I carried on with the installation.

Today, I nipped back to do some fine tuning.
Typed in the password and you guessed it, my normal password is NOT what went in and now the unit is hard locked 

The Dvr is a 16 way analogue unit from Videcon Basics.
Due to the community centre in the prosess of changing internet supplier, the system is not networked so remote access is not a option unless I plug my netbook in direct (which has not been tried yet)

No doubt, there will be a backdoor into this unit somewhere so I can force a hard reset of all passwords but I cannot see it anywhere.

Anybody know of a way around this ?

Omega General Help / Rear centre seatbelt on a FL estate

The one that is inside the rear seat back.
Mines decided it doesn't want to extend and has locked up totally 

Anybody got any tricks on how to free it off or am I looking at dismantling the seat back to get to the dodgy mechanism ?

Here's a thought ................  How does the back come apart ?

Well i've been a very lucky boy this week and the lad and missus have clubbed together for my birthday to buy me turntable 

I've spent the last couple of days picking fluff off the needle and enjoying the warm sound complete with pops of some of my old albums for the first time in about 20 years 

The thing is, all my albums have accumulated 20 years of shite so need a bloody good clean.

What are the OOF vinyl lovers out there using to clean their albums ?

General Car Chat / Quick Corsa C question

As probably known, the lad has a 54 plate 5 door corsa life.
Because the seats are crap and he is rather short on the leg front like his mother, we have just raided eBay for some higher spec seats which adjust height wise and are heated too.

Am I right in thinking that all of the corsa's will come with a standard in cabin wiring loom so if I buy the switches / relays, they should be pretty much plug and play

Ello peeps 

As some on here know, I declared myself bankrupt back in May 2011 and was discharged in May 2012.

Before I pulled the plug, I setup a basic account in my name with just 10 quid in it (so the receiver wouldn't bother) and left it there for a rainy day.

Since the discharge, i've had money going in and out of since with no problems.

Right, here is the good news ...............

A bloke who I have known for 25 years in the game has had enough and as of 2 weeks time, he is retiring and going house sitting around the world.
Now for 25 years, I have been covering his call outs and vice versa so we know each others work inside out.
Because of this, I have first option on 90% of his business.
A agreement has been made where as I pay him a percentage of book profits for 3 years then the lot is mine 

And the bad bit ..................

Obviously, I will need a separate bank account for the business.
Thing is, because I have next to zero credit rating and already have a basic bank account the few banking institutions that I have spoken to are treating me like a leper and all without exception are saying "computer says no"   

Who out there will give a dodgy bastid like me a basic bank account ?

From the looks of it, its based on the panic in the east when NATO was playing a war game (Able Archer)

Omega General Help / Marks on windscreen

I've had 2 sweep marks on the windscreen since I bought the car.
Normally, its not to bad but with the low sun of winter, these marks are getting right on my tits 

Before I seek a lorry to kick up a stone and claim on the insurance  , would a good dose of G3 compound and 5 minutes with a machine polisher help or would this stuff totally shag the screen ?

General Discussion Area / WiFi speaker help please

The lad spent more then a few quid on me this year and asked father Christmas to send me a Wifi speaker 

It is controlled via the Muzo App on my gayphone and works pretty well tbh.

When I try and connect it to my homegroup / media centre via Wifi, it initially started to show on the phone screen the track names. When I tried to get it to show albums, it spat me out and now even though you can see the media centre on the phone screen, it shows no play lists / artists / albums or tracks 
No matter what button I press, it will not show anything what is on the media centre 

The lad tried to connect via his blackberry and could see everything on the media centre BUT the music 

Anybody any ideas on this please ?


I should also add if it helps that the 2 pc's and the media centre are hard wired together and you can see each others files via the network.
My pc and media centre downstairs are running Win 7 with Ms Essentials in the background.
The lads pc is running Win 10.

Doing some work under the bonnet, replacing various lpg pipes and emptying the 2.4.6 coil pack of water ect.
In the process of replacing some perished pipework going from the vaporizer to the PS02 lpg pressure / manifold vacuum sensor, i've gone and snapped one of the vacuum pipes off the piggin sensor   

Anybody got a good one lying around somewhere or were is the best place to get one ?

General Car Chat / corsa cdti problem

The lads corsa is becoming a tw at to start after its been left for a few hours.
This happens whether its warm or cold.
Also outside air temp makes no difference.
Its had injector cleaner pushed though the system.
The under bonnet fuel filter has been changed.
The glow plugs had been checked.

The only way it will start is if you crank it over for a couple of seconds with your foot on the floor first.
Then cycle the glow plugs and turn the key with a tiny bit of gas pedal.

If you do that, it kicks into life with no problem, hot or cold.

I'm thinking it may have a little air leak in the fuel system causing the fuel to flow back towards the tank after a few hours.
I've removed the plastic cover off the top of the engine and no diesel leaks are apparent around the injectors, fuel rail, or pipework back to the mechanical pump.

Any ideas please ?

The Mv6 is coughing and spluttering like a bastid when it warms up.
Not looked into it yet so not sure what side but its defiantly not firing on 6 pots because you can smell petrol when its static.

Just asking who has a 1,3, 5 OR A 2,4,6 coil pack for sale in case it needs one.

I'll know which side when it stops pissing down and I have checked the codes / data so this is just a heads up for now.

If anybody has any in the shed, stick it on here or PM me please with a price inc P&P to Ull
