Oh 'dangle berries'
« on: 08 December 2015, 11:38:40 »

Doing some work under the bonnet, replacing various lpg pipes and emptying the 2.4.6 coil pack of water ect.
In the process of replacing some perished pipework going from the vaporizer to the PS02 lpg pressure / manifold vacuum sensor, i've gone and snapped one of the vacuum pipes off the piggin sensor   :-[ >:(

Anybody got a good one lying around somewhere or were is the best place to get one ?

I've just seen it on Tinleys site Kev.

Gone for the one on the www.lpgshop.co.uk site.
A saving at nearly 15 quid over Tinley cannot be sniffed at sadly.

I'll let you lot know how things work out

Cheers lads  :)

Just looking at the removed sensor.
If I block up the broken vacuum side with a blob of Araldite them stick a T piece on the other and connect the vacuum pipes back up, it looks to me like it would give the same readings  :y

Am I looking at this right OR am I dreaming here  :-\

Oh, hang on.. You might be right. I was thinking of my PS-01 sensor, but I believe the PS-02 is the one that sits inline with the LPG feed and the smaller vacuum pipe is "straight through"?

Measure the diameter of the snapped off pipe and drill the main housing 5mm using a drill the same diameter as the measured piece.

A wipe of super glue around the snapped part and push inside the drilled housing.

Job jobbed.

Yup, that's the one  :y :y

Tbh, the knackered sensor is about 5 years old now and has been on 2 different cars. Even for a 3.2 (with my right foot) the economy is shite.
I'm starting to think that due to wear, this sensor isn't performing as it should.
I'll dig out a t piece and some araldite and keep this one as a spare.

The new one should be here in the next day or two via DPD so i'll see how it runs when fitted.

One thing I have noticed is that over the last 12 months, i've had to tweak the KME Gold reducer quite a few times to keep the pressure about the 1.1 Bar mark because it has been dropping off  :-\
Maybe it wasn't the old pipework but the sensor  :-\

It snapped off right at the base Mark
I don't think there is enough left to drill it out hence the t piece and araldite plan  :(
Thanks anyway  :)
