Still looking for the two 'J' shaped boot tidy accessories that sit on top of the rear wheels arch covers in the Estate boot.

Black or Grey plastic and whatever they are fixed with.

Anyone have 'em or come across 'em, please let me know.
They are for my '98 Estate

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Wold this work with M/FL OE Radio?
« on: 26 December 2011, 12:06:12 »
Just seen this via DABonwheels site:-

http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/CK-O_DAB2011.html?campaign=wizemail&dm_i=G8Y,NEKY,2787OQ,1W4Z5,1

Is it adaptable with some behind the dash wizardry?

I currently have an aftermarket H/U and DAB aerial (and headrest mounted screens)
Have still got the original Philips H/U
Other than that, don't know what is behind the centre consul.
Possible or simply too much fiddling about?

Matthew

Happy New Year all!

General Car Chat / Very Pleased with MPG..........
« on: 10 December 2011, 21:08:22 »

.....................on my run up to near Kidderminster today..........

36.6 MPG on the way up and 38.2 on the way back.
My best ever run (M11, M25, M40) for MPG with Cruise.

And as a bit of a surprise walked into Michael Barrymore at Warwick services at 7 am on the outward leg....
He was very polite and (I think) quite relieved that I just smiled in recognition and said 'morning' and walked on....
He drove off in a silver Merc A Class. I thought he'd be in something slightly more ostentatious........

Omega General Help / Front Brakes, the next chapter............
« on: 07 November 2011, 05:18:39 »
I've started to noticed the smell of hot metal as I get out of the car after a drive.

Both front alloys are warm and the calipers are warmer.

What needs adjusting?

Omega General Help / Coolant Level Check
« on: 14 October 2011, 18:53:12 »
Hi everyone,
I'm getting the above message up on the display.

Looked in the tank and sure enough needed topping up.

Not having any effect, however.
Anyone can tell me why it's refusing to clear with coolant up to the line?

Omega General Help / Vauxhall Front wheel Drive Alloy offset
« on: 29 September 2011, 19:57:28 »

Been looking for threads about this.
I've noticed that some people have used Vectra and Astra wheels successfully on their Omegas.

As I understand it the Omega off set range is 33 - 39. (The Irmscher Pre-facelift MV6 cardboard alloy ET is 33 - I've just looked at my surviving spare)

Most of the front wheel Vauxhall cars seem to have off set ranges beginning in the high 30s and up to 45.

What of the front wheel drive offsets can be safely used on Omegas? (ie without causing rubbing/damage to the arches/liner?

Anyone had any 42+ ET on an Omega without need of modding the arches/using different tyre sizes?

Thoughts and opinions please

Matthew

Omega General Help / Seized Caliper and Oil change
« on: 28 September 2011, 10:11:14 »
Thanks to Albs for his enquiry about the calipers - looks like we can go ahead with that :y

Can anyone give me their opinion on the likelihood of said seizure being caused by brake oil change?
Took the car to my usual mechanic and got them to change the Oil as braking had become spongy. (posted on old forum).

Is it just an unhappy coincidence or could the seizure have been caused by the oil change?
(Hadn't driven car since Saturday when work done til yesterday eve, when it seized)
My car is 13 years old and calipers are not immortal, but if I need to talk with the garage, I'd be grateful for any heads up info prior to doing so.

Have one at home - when I move it round the house and re-plug it in it picks up the time straight away.

Any reason my Car one won't pick up the time in the same way?
