Omega General Help / heated seat hmmm

Was driving to work heated seat all working ok when the switch on dash turned offf ( by turned off i mean the light went out) seat got cold. Messed with switch 1-5 nothing checked passenger nothing .. anyone got any idea ??

Omega General Help / Omega suspension

Wanting to improve feel and drive of omegas suspension. i have a 2.6 elite on a 52 plate 74k on clock.

currently got brand new bilstein b4 dampers all around but knackered mv6 springs.

looking at getting eibach springs to compliment the b4s  but as i know they lower car to much for geometry im wondering if anyone has a link or knows where i can buy a spring pad spacer 10mm to make it only a 20mm drop?

Also i can see front wishbone bushes can be replaced for poly and arb bushes .. anyone got any dealings with this?? recommendations?
and is there anywhere that sells the rear wishbone bush in poly..


For rear of car im after poly bushing the doughnut bushes and diff mount bush? anyone know where to buy heard monkfish sell monaro ones which fit ?

also tempted by hubcentric spacers to increase track for stability ? again anyone ever used

any help be greatly apreciated

Omega General Help / 2.6 v6 manual

bought a 2.6 manual 52 plate elite a few months ago. low milage sub 80k.

cracking car cant fault it does miles and miles effortlessly.

but i have a couple of things. i drove my dads 3.2 MV6 auto other day and wow such a difference more instant response, more torque, goes like stink and is on 130k and just as smooth

when i bought my car  i had the cambelt and waterpump done spark plugs full service gaskets and fitted 2x G cams on inlet as after a lot of reading they where best cams to fit.
after that it just seems flat until around 3000rpm when you actually fell it take off. below 3000rpm its quite gutless i don't know if this is cams, being a manual or  nature of car.

 but when i had a 2.5 auto was a lot better low down and my dads 3.2 is better in every respect. this 2.6 seems like something not quite right


can anyone help or advise as motor is nice and don't really wanna get rid.

Omega General Help / rear springs

Having trouble finding a good set of mv6 springs so looking at getting eibach lowering springs .. however will lower another 15mm over mv6 height which i dont want.


Has anyone ever used a superpro rear spring insulator raiser to increase height ?? Or has anyone done anything to increase height once lowering springs fitted... If so what ??

 And is there anything that can be done on front ??

Omega General Help / knock sensor

bought a v6 omega with 71k on clock mint cat but was rattling.. took apart found three tappets collapsed.

changed a bank of tappets while out changed cams to g cams on inlet. fitted new cam seals rocker cover gaskets and spark plugs.

started car up after a few mins of tappets settling car is whisper quiet. couldn't believe it.


however I now have a eml light on and when read say knock sensor. think it said low input or low voltage.

anyone got any idea???

Omega General Help / mv6 suspension

i have a 52 plate elite v6 omega and im wanting to replace shocks and springs to late mv6 spec.

but when i search for shocks all that come up is v6 shocks or 4cyl shocks.. no mention of being specific for mv6.

now i know mv6 shocks and springs are different to every other model as there stiffer..


so what shocks do you buy is it only vauxhall genuine stuff which will be to spec of original Mv6?
or is there an alternative and same with springs

CURRENTLY GOT A STANDARD 2.6 OMEGA LOW MILAGE .. ITS HAVING NEW TAPPETS FITTED AND CAMBELT WATER PUMP KIT AS OF NEXT WEEK..

WANT TO KNOW IS IT WORTH CHANGING THE INLET CAMS WHILE ITS ALL APART TO G CAMS. HEARD IT CAN GIVE A GOOD 10-15BHP FITTING G INLET CAMS...
