A very worth while mod,as its in pieces be silly not,to add the cams, you also need the divider plate as well.

If it's a 2.6 I'd take the opportunity to go the whole hog and replace the valve stem seals.

Sandwich plate sits between inlet manifold and heads...

As for stem seals... Do them now, whilst the heads are being sorted as they will fail soon enough if left ;)

never had any valve stem seals fail on a v6 omega ??

is it common to just 2.6 if so why as wouldn't they be same as 3.2??

so you can change cams without sandwhich plate then as im guessing you swap it for bigger opening as per a 3.0. but unless head ported you now have a step  which is worse than original.

The head on mine was ported when the 3 litre cams were put in, put on rolling road and threw out 195bhp, so increase of 16bhp, and that was a a hole in the exhaust, now charged to stainless steel cats back, but have yet to put it back on rolling road.

Stem seal failure is a 2.6 issue...

Vauxhall in there wisdom decided to penny pinch for a couple of years and fitted cheap seals to the 2.6.
I cant remember which years though  :-\

You will still get the extra bhp without the porting but if you know how the port, it will smooth out the airflow a little more and help driveability   :y

If your going to fit G Cams to inlet, also worth changing the Exhaust to A Cams as well, fairly sure there J's on a 2.6.
