Eternal exhaust, both mid sections and back box for pre face 3 litre saloon (twin tail pipe)

Fitted for about 6 months before the car was broken. One section of pipe was damaged and has been chopped out and a new piece welded in, so it's now good to go and has plenty of life left in it.

£30, buyer collects from Grimsby.

Also one cat available from same car, £20.

General Car Chat / Drying a damp car
« on: 31 October 2012, 07:19:32 »
Last week I had to have a full interior valet on my Zafira. Don't ask... Problem is with the wet weather and lack of sunshine it has now been damp inside for a week and is starting to smell bad. Not as bad as it did before the valet (really, don't ask...) but bad enough. The carpets are still damp, I have pulled them up at the edges and the foam backing is wet.

Any tips and tricks for drying it out? Or getting rid of the smell?? I keep leaving a fan heater in it for an hour or so, it must be working a bit, but not enough. I don't fancy taking all seven seats out to remove the carpet, and anyway can't really have it off the road for any length of time.

General Discussion Area / Another Omega RIP
« on: 18 September 2012, 08:10:25 »
I've had 9 Omegas over the last 7 or 8 years but only joined up on here a few months back, since then my last 2 have both died!

The other week white van man failed to notice me stop at a roundabout in my Elite. Tail gate stoved in, boot floor creased, OSR quarter shunted forwards into back door, so there was really no way the insurance were going to pay to repair it.

It's a testament to the car that I've had it 4 years, usually a whole year is a long time for me to keep anything.

In a way it came at the right time, T&T out in a couple of weeks, and was going to need an exhaust and wishbones, and the cam covers were leaking, so saved me some time and money.

I actually already got a Grand Cherokee to replace it with, that was about 18 months ago, but in the end kept them both when I realised the Omega was worth about tuppence...

Don't know if I will have another Omega now, I feel I've done the Omega thing, but I've always got my eyes open for a bargain and Omegas are certainly available for bargain basement money so you never know!

Omega General Help / PAS pulley removal
« on: 10 July 2012, 23:17:39 »
I need to replace the PAS pump on a 2.5 V6. I have a spare PAS pump, can't remember what it came off, it looks the same but the pulley is a slightly different diameter. On the original the pulley is bolted on to a boss, on the spare the pulley is mounted directly onto the shaft. So, how do they come off? is the shaft threaded, and if so normal thread or left handed? Or, will the smaller pulley make no real difference??

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Wanted: 2.0 16v engine
« on: 21 May 2012, 13:09:00 »
I am looking for a replacement engine for my Omega, cash waiting.

2.0 16v ecotec, must be in good working order and including clutch and flywheel, but don't need any other ancillaries. It's to go in a 2000/W facelift.

I'm in Grimsby so must be within a sensible distance, or very cheap to make travelling worthwhile! What have you got?

General Discussion Area / Road pricing rant
« on: 15 May 2012, 10:02:29 »
Just heard on the news that the government is intending to introduce road pricing, because of a shortfall in revenue from fuel tax due to modern cars being more fuel efficient (or electric) and people driving less. So let me get this straight, they increase fuel duty to the point where people can no longer afford it, then look for another way to get more money out of us? I think we are being shafted.

Note to the chancellor: Part of something is better than all of nothing

Newbie Welcome Area / Hello from Grimsby
« on: 10 May 2012, 10:10:17 »
Hi I'm new here, but not new to Omegas! Currently have a 3 litre Elite estate and a 2 litre GLS saloon, and have owned 7 others previously, and 3 Senators and a Carlton before that. Have just joined the forum because it's getting harder to find decent second hand parts to keep them on the road.
