Omega General Help / Help, Airbag warning light

Airbag warning light recently decided to stay on, have checked with "My Naff Code Reader", shows faults 44 and 81, memory blocks identify "Passenger side, side airbag sensor - Interupted/Not OK"
Anybody know what I should be looking at ?
Have checked wiring under seat and all the way to the side airbag, nothing appears to be wrong.
Is there a separate sensor I should be checking ?

Omega General Help / Tech2, Op Com or other ?

Air bag light has just come on and stayed on, wondering which is best tool to buy to reset it ?
Seen lots of Tech2's and Op Com's from China on Ebay, anyone got any experience of these ?
Are both types theretically suitable for a '99 MV6 ?

Can anybody tell me if the '99 MV6 is considered to be the "lowered sports chassis" or what exactly the "lowered sports chassis" is ?
Apparently it makes a difference as to which steering drag link is suitable....

Omega General Help / Centre steering tie bar

I need to buy a new centre tie bar, any suugestions ? I've seen some advertised as not suitable for lowered suspension, anybody know what this means as I don't see why there should be any difference ?

Omega General Help / Monroe "Reflex" front dampers

Thinking about replacing my soft and bouncy KYB front dampers, don't want to buy over priced Bilsteins, has anybody tried the Monroe Reflex dampers ? The Monroe blurb sounds impressive but then it would wouldn't it....

Omega General Help / A/C stopped working again....

Hi and a happy new year to everyone.

To start my new year off the A/C has stopped working again, fitted a new condenser last year and all has been fine until now. The compressor has disengaged but I need to know if there's a way of checking whether it's just low on gas or if there's another problem, any ideas ?

Omega General Help / Another cruise control question....

Hi Guys,

I'm starting to look at fitting cruise control to my '99 MV6, but there's an electrically driven pump mounted where the cruise control unit needs to go, looks like a small water pump. Can anybody tell me what this pump is for and where it should be moved to to make room for the control unit ?

Omega General Help / Rear subframe mounting bushes ?

Has anybody here ever changed the mounting bushes at the front of the rear subframe ?
Looks like my subframe occasionally moves far enough to touch the right hand silencer, about 1/2 inch forward.

Omega General Help / A/C condenser - Where from & how much ?

It looks like I'm going to have to replace my A/C condenser, it appears that the system has lost pressure and stopped working, not sure if it's the condenser but the lower 3 or 4 rows of fins are falling out anyway so might as well replace it while the systems depressurised. Then get the system checked for leaks.
Does anyone know of a preferable condenser supplier ? Are the cheaper ones OK ? I see there's an ad on Ebay by Aircon Medic at £125 + £10 postage, seems like a reasonable deal to me ?
Could do with a more cost effective source of testing and refilling if anybody has any suggestions ?

Omega General Help / Vibration

I have a vibration which increases with speed, it's through the whole car, not the wheels, you can start to feel it at around 70 mph, it then gets worse the faster you go, quite irritating above 80. It feels like the propshaft or a driveshaft to me, pretty sure it's not a wheel ballance issue.
Anyone else had a similar problem ?
Are the propshaft joints replaceable or is it a whole prop job ?

Anyone tried any alternative bulbs to make the main beam appear as bright as the xenon dipped beam ?
Lots of supposedly xenon bulbs available, are they any good ?

Thought I'd post these picks just to show people what an Omega looks like with the "cheap" lowering springs from Venom, and a "cheap" set of KYB shocks. Works pretty well I think...............
