Can anyone let me know the part # for the xenon level sensors on a facelift Elite? I know they're the same because I got one a couple of years back but can't find the part# anywhere. I had a right performance getting the right bit from the stealers last time!

Omega General Help / Any idea what type calliper I have?

Me being lazy here....

I'm lead to believe my V reg facelift 3.0 Elite Estate could have either Lucas or some other make(can't remember at the mo.) of calliper on the front.

Does anybody know for definite which type it will be or do I have to take a look? If the only way to tell is from looking, does anyone have a couple of pics so I can tell without removing a wheel?

The oil in my autobox has done 80k assuming it's never been changed before. I'm about to go on a long journey towing a pikey box. I can afford to stick some cheap Comma Dex 3 in but not the quality Castrol or Fuchs that I would normally use. I would be changing the oil again for better stuff in about 15k miles. I know the difference it makes to gear changes after changing it on my last Omega.

Would you bother putting the cheaper stuff in? My thinking is that at the end of the day it is made to the GM standard so should last a year.

Would you keep what's in there knowing it's done 80k but should be real Vauxhall Dex 3?

Omega General Help / LPG programming cable help!

Is there anyone in the North West that has had one of Jeremys Stag 300 LPG kits that has a programming cable I could use? He's sent me a cable but it appears to have been delayed or lost in the post  

I'll drive over & just want to get the callibration done as I'm going on a couple of long trips Sunday & Monday and it's annoying me that I'm going to be paying petrol prices rather than gas!

Omega General Help / Cheap tyre dealer - get what you pay for....

I got a broken level sensor on the back of my Elite after the cowboys jacked it up

Does anyone know roughly how much they are new or any of you have a cheap 2nd hand one? I'm going to ring the tyre place in the morning but don't expect to get anything out of them.

Omega General Help / Airbag, cruise & external temp problem...related?

The other day, I set off down the motorway & turned cruise control on. Ran for about 10mins and then turned it off using the stalk button when I hit some traffic. At the same time, the airbag warning light came on and external temp starts flashing (-28 I think it was!). Temp stayed silly & airbag light stayed on until I stopped at the services. When I set off again everything was back to normal and has been since.

The airbag light came on about a month ago - also when I was using cruise control. This also fixed itself after a couple of days.

Both times it was raining quite heavily.

Could these all be related or does anyone have any ideas?

Can anybody recommend someone who can do a full geometry check in the North West? (or just caster/camber on the front)

My Omega now decides when to turn left & right... I feel like a damn passenger hanging on for dear life and it might soon be costing me more in tyres than petrol!

Omega General Help / Finding a wire.....

I'm fitting an S type socket to my 2000 Omega Estate facelift and need to locate the nearest supply to the boot that's live only when the ignition is on. It doesn't have to be high power - it's only to switch a relay.

Does anybody know what's nearest?

General Discussion Area / DIY LPG after 4000 miles

Just checked my LPG setup(Jeremys) after 4k miles and had to wind the vaporiser up a bit to get back to 1 bar. Probably the spring weakening off a bit.

Re-calibrated and it idles even smoother now.

Engine oil looks like new too - might stick iton eBay when I change it!

Well chuffed still & weekly fuel bill is down to £22

I'll stick some pics on one day....

General Discussion Area / Cooking on gas.... well sort of

Finished the installation of my gas kit tonight. Filled tank to 10% ish and did the leak tests. Missing the programming cable though so can't do much more   although it will idle really smooth on gas  

Jeremy tells me the cable will be here by Friday so should be all systems go then.
