How to adjust LPG vapouriser pressure?
« on: 09 July 2008, 20:23:04 »

I've got one of Jeremy's kits and have seen a few people mention increasing the vapouriser pressure. How do you do this?

On the front of the Vapouriser there's a large allen key plug right in the centre. May have a "voltran" sticker on it.

Take the sticker off and wind in the plug a couple of turns with a (10mm?) allen key.

Thanks Kevin.

I'm suffering from "injectors always open" at WOT high revs but only just so I reckon upping the pressure will sort it.

OK.  :y

Out of interest, what size did you drill the injector nozzles out to?

I drilled them to 3.0mm.

I think they would go to 3.1 but I would be worried about snapping the bit where the hose goes on if I went to 3.2.

Well impressed so far though. I'm getting about 17MPG running to work and back and have halved my fuel bill already! The only difference when on gas is that the engine runs smoother.

OK. I drilled mine to about 2.8 IIRC. I'll probably have to increase that I guess. I would have thought there would not be much to gain by drilling them bigger than 3mm in any case.  The injector nozzles themselves would start to become the weakest link I reckon.

The deviation on mine as it is set up now ranges from +4% to -1% so I don't think it's far out at 3mm. I am going to hook the pikey box up next week & drag it up & down the M55 to see if any more tuning is needed before the Corwnall trip!

I reckon from the experiences of other people that 3mm is probably the best bet... I'm hoping that's what you're going to do mine to for me please Kevin? :y :y :y

I think mine are on 2.85 and it works fine. 3mm is a bit OTT i think.

Does yours have the 1 ohm (yellow) gas injectors or the 3 ohm (red) ones? I have a feeling the red ones are looking like they flow a little less gas (and need to be drilled wider).

Dunno what they are.  They were (or should) be the correct rating for the power output of the 2.6.  I recall having to specify exactly which model and bhp my car was whn i bougt the kit.

Here's a pic anyway...

Ahh, blue ones. :-/ Had a feeling you had one of Jeremy's kits but not so?

Be interesting to see what my 3.2 makes of this kit... There's nothing left to give at 3 mm (nozzles are 3mm internal diameter). I wonder if we are hitting the limits of the multivalve?

I thought you went with a 4 hole tank Kevin? If so I believe the "multivalve" should be good for in excess of 400bhp engines... I know of people on the LPG forum who have successfully converted high performance cars with 4 hole tanks!
