Omega General Help / Ran out of petrol???????????????
« on: 06 January 2009, 07:38:41 »
Jumped in mig at quarter to 6 this morning to get her warmed up. Temp was -5.
MID said I had 56 miles left in tank. Work from mine is approx 12 miles. I thought to myself I would get some fuel on the way home. I pulled up outside my friends to give him a lift to work as he lives on the way and the MID said 49 miles. I pulled up half on the kerb and half on the road. Selected park and left engine running.
About 2 mins later the car coughed, farted then cut out. I tried starting the car about 4 times and it was trying to fire but couldnt.
Obviously fuel shortage. Looked at fuel gauge which was low and range and this said 49 miles still. I reset the MID which then shockingly made the fuel light flash and the MID read 2 miles!!!!!
What would of caused the MID to be so far out? Never had problems with this before. Cant see it being the cold as it was -8 the other morning and she ran like a dream. Any ideas???   :-/

Omega General Help / Bl**dy useless vauxhall
« on: 07 January 2009, 08:19:06 »
Over two weeks ago I ordered all the gaskets and bits and pieces to change everything needed whilst doing my drivers side exhaust manifold through my local vx.

Everything was there within a few days apart from the gasket(s) for the secondary air intake which I was promised wouldnt take long. Well after a few phone calls including 3 yesterday, I get told there is none within the group in the U.K and the earliest they can be got will be the 29th of this month.

Will I be ok to go without these and use the old ones as if it starts getting noisier if a seal does go, I will just unplug it as others have done?   :-/

TIA  :y

Omega General Help / Re: getting locking wheel nuts off...
« on: 05 January 2009, 09:41:37 »
Cant be as bad as Peugeot My mate just took his 206 to a garage for new tires. They lost his locking wheel nut tool. Told him to ring peugeot for a new one and they would pay. Fair enough he thought. Upon ringing peugeot he gets told that each tool is different and that he would need the 4 digit code off his original one. He is finding that part QUITE difficult

Although not an MOT requirement it`s illegal under the road traffic act to have non-operational headlamp washers where HID`s are fitted. :y

It was me that told u this bro cos I was on about getting Hid's like yours but didnt know about having to have the wash system to stay on our side of the law  :y
