Omega General Help / Re: help thermostats not the right one
« on: 21 April 2014, 21:55:02 »
Whilst I understand your point Nick, the less fuss made, the more likely they are to keep screwing up...

How hard is it to type a reg/chassis number into the factory parts system and produce a part number that might actually bolt straight on >:( or is it just me...

Yes it is  :D ;)
Only joking mate. You're quite right of course, and there is a certain amount of banging your head against the wall at the parts dept  :(

If you mean the bolts are too long for the new housing, then that's normal. The base of the new stat is much shallower than the old. I used a number of washers to pack mine out, though I think replacement bolts of an appropriate length are available.
Apologies if I have misread the post.

Should be a manual over ride, remove cover that is where the roof motor is,usally a special key, allen key or flat head screw driver slot

Thanks a lot. I'll go out and have a look  :y

Brilliant! Aperture in the centre of motor for an Allen key. Just wound it back. On testing, the roof works fine, EXCEPT when fully opened backwards. Not sure if that's a lazy motor or perhaps it's simply stuck at full extension. Something else to investigate  :)

Thanks for the help though. At least it's now closed  :y
