If it cut off half way through, may be corrupt?  :-/

didn't even get to halfway, at 10% it all went a bit pete tong  :-/ and stopped working from there...

I have disconnected the battery, and even looked to see if there was a backup of the 1.9.25 S/W but alas no

Not a lot of help but mine took the upgrade with no issues at all :y :y

Check all your connections thoroughly  ::) ::)

Lazy, do you have Telios details? if so could you PM them to me please?

i have been all over the ecu connector and the OBD and USB connectors, all of that was in place very snugly,

Omega General Help / LPG stopped working!!!
« on: 22 November 2008, 17:39:51 »
Been doing a lot of work on the omega today.

Full service on the petrol side, LPG fuel filter changed and check the settings.

Before i plugged the lappy in i downloaded the latest software, as part of this i noticed that there was a notice about the firmware.
my ecu has 1.9.25 firmware, there was a update to 1.9.27, so after setting the fuel gauge up and taking the car for a spin to check everything out i decided to do the upgrade....

Started the process and about 10 seconds in the laptop lost contact with the ECU, after that it all went wrong......the LPG system went dead....nothing at all, even the gauge was dead.

The ECU has power, but none of the sensors or injectors have power to them, i have checked all the fuses i can see and they are all good......

now i have heard of ECU's going bang when S/W updates are done on them, but before i write it off and speak to Telio does anyone have any other ideas?

Cheers

your idle does seem a little high, it should be about 650 or 700 with climate on.

my 2.6 doesn't seem to slow very well off the gearbox, i have just put if down to it being a feature of autoboxes

Have amended post - sorry guys yes it actually is around 600 rpm

if that's the case then yes that does sound right

the idler is most likely the aux belt tensioner pulley  :y

i agree with everyone here.....1K tops.

Mileage is big, and Omegas will wear it well, history, is it dealers? if not then i would use that to knock him down.
Cam belt, rocker covers and the fact that the radio is not a gen vaux one, you have lost the screen display and the steering wheel controls, this may not be important but it helps from your part with negotiation.

If it was me i would shove a grand under his nose, hold my hand out and get him to shake on it, if he says no, the tell him the money is there for 7 days after that you will be off buying another that you know is coming on the market  ;)

Play then at their own game, they will hate you but you get the car you want at the price you want

I'm not sure that it will be easily possible without some sort of cutting and welding on ther floorpan and retapping holes as well

hi, welcome to OOF  :y

My 2.6 cost me about £700 to convert myself, and there are a few people on the forum here who have done their own conversions.

Is a rule of thumb i would budget on spending £1500 for a 4 cyl conversion, this could make it cost prohibitive, but that would depend on how long you intended to keep the car and what sort of mileage you do.....

With the 2.6 i managed to get my money back on the conversion within 10,000 miles (3 months) the other thing to consider is the positive effect it will have on the resale value of the car as well...

if you have any other Q's ask away  :y

Omega General Help / Re: Omega C Shocks
« on: 15 September 2008, 22:58:49 »
the two cars you have pictured here are the same they are facelifted Omega B's, there was never a Omega C produced.

there may be some differences between -99 and 00- suspension, one of the more technical guys will be able to help with that

if you were to change the hood then you would need to change the front bumper and i would also check to see if the headlights have a different profile, if they do then they will need to be changed and so will the front wings.

the mouldings under the headlights will have to be changed, the bumper support will also need changing

the genuine ones are prone to 'catching' the floor, mine are in terrible condition as a result......

i agree they do finish the car off, but this is one of those times when i would say don't bother, one of mine has literally stripped the paint off with its excessive movement

Omega General Help / Re: Rear Blind Into 2002 CD ?
« on: 15 September 2008, 22:49:27 »
easiest way of doing it is to try and get a complete shelf with blind, they go for up to £50.....

dependant on the age of the blind you may find you have to cut all the wires and use bullet connectors as the multiplugs are not compatible, don't worry its just a case of connecting the right coloured wires together  :y

took me about an hour to do, however i had to paint my shelf as it was a different colour to the car, that added another hour or two onto the job  ;D

here's a how to on blind removal, refitting is the reverse......in the words of the good book Haynes

oh and don't forget the switch, about £15 from a dealer, plugs straight in

i know it has been said a few times, Danny's would be a good buy.

It needs a bit of time spent on it to get the gas to run properly, but at the price he is asking for it you would still have money left in your budget, alternative there are a few members on here who have a bit of knowledge of LPG powered Omegas.

If that's not your cup of tea then look for one with low mileage, and make sure that the cambelt and tensioners have been replaced at 40K or 4 years, if someone tries to tell you differently then i would walk away.....

there are plenty of bargains to be had out there, it is very much a buyers market.

and welcome to OOF   :y

Omega General Help / Re: abs, tc, speedo problem

it seems to be common with 99-01 cars, we have seen a lot of them....

Mine was exactly the same, ABS ECU was the cure.....
