i,m a brickie by trade, but i did literally 1000 sq mtrs during the 90,s when the Berlin wall came down. ( bus stations , lorry parks etc ) and i agree its all about the prep. wacker plate heavier the better a good tip is stand on the finished screed - you should not leave a footprint , also wet sand is no good.

have just been quoted £242 + vat for an o/s suspension arm from local stealers. since found these on the web www.vauxhall-car-parts.co.uk £23-95vat inc. same part no as vx quoted. thats a hell of a difference. :o :-? :-?

after watching IanD resolder the battery holders to two key-fob circuit boards, hence getting each fob to work again in just a few minutes. iv,e every confidence in ian - my hat goes off to him.thanks once again.   ps.  also maplins are shortly opening a new store in york.   :y :y :y

got rid of a lwb 2.5 td in january. it needed a new cab floor. i even bought a mig to attempt the job, but let it go for £200. great weight carrier, and the peugot engine once up to speed went like hell. :)

today i decided to have a go at cleaning the tractors  lift pump. i got as far as being able to see the beast then was stuck. Ian D - i,m very grateful to say came round to the house after he finished work, and needless to say within 20 mins i was up & running. i would have been all day tomorrow and may have even ended with it broken.  many thanks ian  :y :y :y

a pal of mine was looking to replace an engine in a zafira. he contacted various breakers before obtaining one. One in particular situated 10 miles east of york (used to be simpson bros) U-Pull-It has about 600+ makes & models.  the idea is you buy the complete motor , and then have a day to strip the parts. because of H&S regs engines & gearboxes has to be removed by the breakers staff & there is an extra charge for this . eg - miggys 3@ £285  1@ £200 . apparently its an american firm looking to make inroads into the UK. find them at www.upullit.co.uk. it would be interesting to see if other oofers think this idea will catch on. :-/ :-/

on reading my own post , just to clarify the prices of £285-£200 is for the complete vehicle xtra £60 for removal of engine.  :)
