Do you have a preference?

mig or tig

I like stick welding, easy to learn and can be pretty tidy, no need for argon
I will have to get back to you on that one  ??? I did say I was new to it ( ..or is that it to me! )

Today, I removed the exhaust back box because it has a bloody great hole in it.
Then I decided to check the rear pads - glad I did, they were nearly gone too  :o

Budget another £20 for handbrake shoes while you're in there
Oh! Are they different to the normal brakes then? Oh dear, I didn't know that  :o

there is a brand new genuine gm one on ebay now 9157104

Wouldn't be much use on a diesel

Got a centre section and rear box for my saloon for £62 plus delivery (£12) from sunny Poland, seems fine, came with hanger rubbers, clamp and even the flange bolts. Gerlach if I remember correctly.
What is Gerlach? Is that the brand or the place?

The capacity issue is a serious one - I'm surprised there hasn't been a serious accident or two. The law of averages would suggest it's overdue. :o

I'm looking to learn how to weld. Never done it before.
I don't really want to sign up for a college course because it'll be impossible to fit around my very demanding work.
(Demanding in the sense that they love to mess my hours & shifts around without notice.

The motivation is because I have purchased a motorbike & I want to redesign it which will involve cutting & welding a new part of the frame. The bike is an old Suzuki, with a steel frame.

Does anyone have the time or inclination to teach me a thing or two?  ;D
Ideally, not a zillion miles from north Essex / Suffolk area.

Cheers, JD

I know I put in £400 - £450 a day in my unit, I certainly don't want it to go up, even by a 1p ::)

I have seen that one on fleebay but I don't think it's right for my diesel model.
Please correct me if you think I'm wrong.

I should of mentioned - I'm really looking for a new one rather than used. Sometimes people buy them, then don't get round to fitting it or sell their car. There may be one lurking in the corner of a garage somewhere :y

I need a back box for my '02 2.2 diesel.
Does the exhaust from a saloon fit an estate?

Cheers....

I'm after an exhaust back box for my 2002 2.2 diesel estate.
I would prefer to purchase from the forum than outside of it if poss.

Admin, I'm not sure if you will allow this because of my post count but I'm not trying to sell anything.

Thanks.

100% Spry crisp & dry goes in mine. I wonder if a litre of extra virgin olive oil per tankful would make it run smother ?  ;D
LOL  ;D ;D
