Omega General Help / Boot spoiler

Would a boot spoiler off of a pre face-lift fit a face lifted model?
Welcome to OOF
About pre 2001, the key needs to be out of the ignition before dash switch will open boot. Post 2001, the switch needs to be press and held, as you have found.
All, assuming no other mods, obviously.
Don't dismiss it out of hand.Could also be a failed exhaust rubber allow a bit more exhaust flex... Cold, grab the tail pipe and give it a good waggle... Any clonks and that's as good a place to start as any
I know the exhaust is knocking but it's too light a sound for that.

YupI would check the easy things first, like the rear shocks to make sure one hasn't failed, or that a pigtail hasn't broken off one of the rear springs.
Please excuse my ignorance but 'pigtail'? Is that the last part of the coil spring that you mean where it reduces in size to a smaller coil?
Most likely are:
Failed shock upper mounting
Failed shock
Failing/failed rear subframe front bushes
Failed rear diff/subframe mountings
In descending order of how badly the car corners...
Not trying to teach you how to suck eggs and all that but are all your boot cubby holes and spare wheel well free of anything that may be causing the rattle ?
Would those doors be from Nigel Pearson in Nottingham.
Normally you get a good deal from him. Also try him for other spares. My rear door cost £20 and you can't tell the difference from the original.
Also, looking at your car, is it Ural Mountain Green. If so, its the same as one of mine. Nice colour, and not many around. Think I saw it on Facebook
Sorry to hijack this thread but saw your links re E.T.S and had a look. Very reasonable. Does anybody know whether a rear box from a 3.0/3.2 would fit a 2.2 petrol saloon using standard 2.2 centre sections? No. V6 back boxes have twin input pipes, 4 cylinder boxes only one. 3.0 and 3.2 boxes also have twin output pipes, 2.5 only one, but that's just silly styling.Sorry to hijack this thread but saw your links re E.T.S and had a look. Not quite right. A 2.2 official system has twin centre sections. So it does have twins going into the back box.
It's the 2.0 setup which is single entry. If you want the twin exit look, better off fitting a 2.0 ETS system. Cut a chunk of the exit pipe off and pop on a twin exit trim
Why would that be better? Excuse my ignorance as I don't know much about the Omegas.
Out of the factory the 2.2 came with twin centre exhaust sections. It's really not needed. A 2.0 setup with single section is fine, plus a lot cheaper. Cat back whole system can be bought for £70. Full twin systems from GM or KwikShit could 4x that price
Just pop a trim on the end for the desired look.
