Son Ben's 2.2 petrol saloon exhaust has rusted through at the back of the central section where it enters the back box. The system on this car is off a 2.0, single central section, and was entirely adequate. Where is the best source of a replacement? Eternalcar, ETS and Poland come to mind. Please advise.

I've found ETS a tad cheaper than Eternal car. Both good and last well.

Mine came from e.t.s........I ordered it online and 2days later received it....to my surprise it had a label on it that said..e.t.s. hightown road luton.bedfordshire..no suprised it arrived quickly in that case...also found that it was made from good steel..fitted well..and is still ok...so I would def buy from them again..

Thanks, Flyer. Ordered on the 26th, delivery quoted from Germany was Fiday Jan 8th or Jan15th. It arrived this morning, with a label from Luton. Yippee!
I bought the 2.0 system, 'cos it fits just as well and is cheaper.

Yep terry you are correct,,some of us have done the same....makes no difference .as regards to the running,.but saves a few bob..

Sorry to hijack this thread but saw your links re E.T.S and had a look. Very reasonable. Does anybody know whether a rear box from a 3.0/3.2 would fit a 2.2 petrol saloon using standard 2.2 centre sections?

If you want the twin exit look, better off fitting a 2.0 ETS system. Cut a chunk of the exit pipe off and pop on a twin exit trim

Why would that be better? Excuse my ignorance as I don't know much about the Omegas.

No. V6 back boxes have twin input pipes, 4 cylinder boxes only one. 3.0 and 3.2 boxes also have twin output pipes, 2.5 only one, but that's just silly styling.

Not quite right. A 2.2 official system has twin centre sections. So it does have twins going into the back box.

It's the 2.0 setup which is single entry.

If you want the twin exit look, better off fitting a 2.0 ETS system. Cut a chunk of the exit pipe off and pop on a twin exit trim

Out of the factory the 2.2 came with twin centre exhaust sections. It's really not needed. A 2.0 setup with single section is fine, plus a lot cheaper. Cat back whole system can be bought for £70. Full twin systems from GM or KwikShit could 4x that price

Just pop a trim on the end for the desired look.

Thanks Tunnie, I stand corrected. I looked at the two systems behind my garage awaiting dumping, one off Ben's 2.2, the other off Cath's 2.5, forgetting that Ben's had originally come off a 2.0 scrapped earlier.

I am delighted to learn that Kwikfit and Vx charge 4x ETS price; I paid £63.99, ordered Boxing day, arrived on the 31st.
