i like TG, but was reading somewhere that they are seriously considering pulling the plug on it within the next year or so  >:(

The producer and JC want it to end on a high and not drag on to be some boring programme presented by old farts who are rattling on about cars that people are no longer interested in and they don't want it the comedy to go stale either.

Will be a shame if/when it goes, but all good things and all that...........

i would happily pay £10 to assist in the running of the site, aside from the money that could be saved there is the 'social' side of it to consider.

i think other refers to the rare 5 speed auto option that was on the last of the miggys

I have both manual and auto, the miggy is auto, the cav is manual, i keep stalling the cav cos i forget when i get to junctions and lights  :-[

big engines and autos work well, never got on with small engines with autos though, just doesn't seem to work well

:ostupid money nearly bought a complete mv6 with black leather last night for less than he wants for the seats  :o
That's how to do it!!

I love the seats in my MV6, but if I wanted better seats for a project, there's much better options for much less money.

please tell me how.......

I am after a set of black leather recaro seats for a project, they have got to be mint as the car is a show car, recaros because of the slide out leg support (i have long legs and it helps a lot) and black leather because that's what the back seat is trimmed in, plus they are a vauxhall seat so they will go straight in the car with no modifications

that said i wuld not pay that sort of money, if they were £200 then i would, no doubt

i would soooo like these....but for my other project car.....

if the missus saw me even thinking about it i would get shot

4311
i showed it to her indoors.......and got slapped for 'thinking in this backward manner'  :-?

my defense was that i was showing how much things have moved on in the last 50 years and how much more freedom women have.....

she slapped me again :-?

so i returned to my PC

i know mine can do the paperclip test so i am good to go as well by the seems of it

4313
mines a 2.5 2000 model, what type of ECU should i be looking for in order to ensure compatability?

4314
i was looking at this earlier, there are a couple of queries/resevations

the insurance, i know that some people don't declare chips as a mod but surely the insurance company is going to want to know.

Relaibility, fitting a component that will change the way the car drives/behaves/performs will surely also affect the longevity of the engine as well.

fitting, has anyine ever fitted a chip? is it just 'plug and play'

finally what sort of improvements (on a general basis) can you expect to see from something like this?

I'm interested, i would just like those little niggles put to the back of my mind where they belong

I have ordered front and rear. I notlce they are called show plates so I think I'll keep the old ones and stick them back on when I get it MOT'd.
I suppose that technically they are illegal and, of course, are part of the test.

So long at the font and spacing conforms to standard then they will pass an MOT with some form of script below the numbers and letters, dealers do it all the time.

the reason for selling them as show plates is because they can get round the legislation of having to see formal ID from the purchaser like you would do if you went into a local store and bought a set

for tears vauxhall placed very little emphasis on non current models, this is no different to most car manufacturers these days.....

I have been banned from my local dealer for expressing my thoughs on matters like this to the parts manager (oh and calling him a thumbless hitch hiker  ;D)
