....also referred to as a W5W or 501 'wedge based' bulb. 12v obviously. Shouldn't cost you more than a couple of quid a pair. Maybe change both to achieve equal performance.

Driving instructor few years ago horrified to find headlight bulbs can only be changed by main dealer on his new Renault Modus  ;D

For future confirmation of anyone else reading this thread, to check whether warning lights are working, observe lights on dash panel when ignition is switched on. They should then extinguish upon starting the engine.

Just don't run out of petrol now Mr P! ;D

I fitted a sony H/U the other day, twas only a cheapy but had pre outs, aux in on front and back and CD changer control. NOW, sony's ipod interface is only around £15 new (from the bay), utilises the changer and rear aux socket and allows the ipod to be controlled remotely. Therefore, run the cable to the glovebox or any suitable cubby and connect up and leave the ipod out of sight (charging) and control via the stereo controls. H/U also came with IR 'credit card' remote.

Bulb fitting type H1

Projectors have a much clearer, focused light and *better* beam pattern.

Nice motor Phil  :y

Not sure how old your car is Arrol but certainly on most of the newer keys the answer is YES. They can be dismantled and put into a fresh 'casing'. Consult that friendly online auction house  :y

Most omega stereos don't get past the bay city rollers  ;D :P

Mr Dumpty, have you got a multimeter?

If so, check the 'Illumination' supply from the loom plug that connects to the radio. It is an orange wire I believe? I.E. Connect your meter from the plug to a ground anywhere on the car. There should be a reading here, obviously there will only be a supply when the headlights are switched on.

Report back here and we'll get it sorted  :y

I press alot of audio discs, semi professionally and have found only one brand of disc that doesn't give any grief, made by 3M, branded 'Imation'

The place to go buy is SVP online, superb service...

...and while you're at it, put a new Pioneer DVD writer in your basket, these are the business  :y

If you've got Alpine gear and perhaps add some aftermarket squeakers, the bose is nothing to shout about. Yes it's ok for a factory spec car system but if you've gone the upgrade route there is better to be had, i'd still be tempted to keep it stealthy though  :y

Normal main dealer diagnostic work.......Blame the most expensive part and work backwards in price from there.

Here you go mate (provided you have the all important radio code!);

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1185223347

For the CD changer (if you have one) instead of holding 'AS', hold 'CD' instead. (Though it might be fine without inputting the code)
