Is it possible to remove the leather covering off the saloon seats to go onto the Estate seats?

Omega General Help / Saloon leather into an estate?
« on: 09 May 2008, 18:03:34 »
A rather large bus has just written off my missus' N reg 2.5 V6 CDX Omega saloon, but I have a nice looking CDX estate at auction that she can have instead.

Does the entire Saloon leather fit properly into an Estate?

I really should know this, breaking as many cars as i do, but i can't remember!  :-[

DOH! I did have a 24 valve Senator, lol, it was so much faster than the Omega, but thats another story, maybe it was because of all the rust, lol, only half the weight it should be.
Well thanks for the reply, I just spent the last hour checking everything and moving bits around, the actuator at the back doesn't always move when I rev it, seems to move when it wants to, and as I said when it does move its only for a second, does that change under load or something? I have to say it was like a slug with the pipe broken, seems better now

I remain unconvinced - it may have seemed faster due to its naff power delivery...

I've had many a Senator and Omega, and much as i love the Omega (reliable old bus), the 3.0 24v Senators I have had have been quicker than any of my Omegas, though I've never owned a 3.2.

Clutch master is the same part across all Omegas so yes you can use the 2.0 one.

Saving me money-tastic!  :y

no the master cylinders are different and the slave cylinder for clutch is inside gearbox behind the release bearing !! not that easy to sort and not cheap !! :(

Clutch master cylinders are the same across all engine sizes. Only the pedal box is different with the V6 adding a big 'helper' spring.

Before you condemn the master cylinder try bleeding the clutch but modify an easi-bleed to push fluid in through the bleed nipple, its the only way of guaranteeing an air-free system.

So i can use the 2.0 one then?

I know the slave cylinder is inside, but thats not the problem.

Thats a shame the 2.0 one won't fit, because the cheapest one I can find is £100 :(

Perhaps i will keep the Auto then and break up the manual.

Grrr!

Appears that hte clutch master cylinder has now failed on my car.  I did buy a replacement Omega 2.5 V6 Auto CD model of the same age, because the clutch was slipping on my manual Omega, I bought the auto as a replacement because my Omega needs quite a bit of work to keep it going, and was convinced the clutch was dying, now thats not the case.

Then finally, the clutch pedal gives up and I have to either start the car in gear or change gear by timing the change with the revs (not as tricky as it sounds), clutch now doesn't slip at all, so this leads me to believe its the master cylinder on the back of the clutch pedal.

Theres no loss of fluid from the brake reservoir, so that rules out the slave cylinder.

I've also got another Omega, a 2.0 16v Ecotec with head gasket failure.

is the clutch master cylinder from the 2.0 Omega compatible with the 2.5 V6 Omega, and is it much of a tricky job, mate of mine hates doing them on Vectras, but i'm rather hoping the arrangement of the engine in the Omega will mean more room.

This is one of those jobs I want to start and finish in the same night, so any help would be appreciated.
