M.I.L recently had a new boiler (not a bad install, it I'm honest) but the fitter was adamant that it didn't make any difference to her gas bill if she turned off the radiators in the spare bedroom when not in use as the "boiler is on anyway".

basically kevin im afraid he is sort of right, if the radiators in the house have not got their own thermostats then turning off 'unused' radiators will cause a cold spot in the house which will then cause the heating system to work harder trying to compensate

hi
welcome to the forum  :y
first thing to try is a climate reset which is key in ignition position 2 then auto and off buttons pressed together you should hear the servo motors working that should reset your climate, if this doesnt work then its time to look at your circulation flaps sometimes the arm can pop out of the motor leaving the flap in one position there is a guide for this in the maintenance section  :y

Hi all ree here again ive had a leaking coolent  from which i thought was at rear of engine as saw red fluid stain around that area.
took front skuttle off could,nt really see to much felt all round pipes so forth its not a bad leak prob once a week top up i turneed engine on for awhile full heating on still could not find leak / its not water pump or anything to do with rad , worried might do casket in if not found and fixed. do i need a pressure test to find it ?? or is there somewhere i havent looked ,as its hard to tell as been leaking awhile so fluid well over much of the back end of engine , heres hopeing  Ree
take scuttle off by windscreen, looking in engine bay rear left of engine is where the hbv lives, pain to see and get at  :( but a coolant leak usually points to the hbv fubared and leaking, if not hbv your best bet is as you have said pressure test the system but put your heater through all operations as you are doing it  :y
