Cool Thanks!

Will check the connections and report back.
Battery is fine as have checked that and replaced it and checked the replacement too... :D

Sorry for long reply... been working like a mad man last week or so!!!

Thank you very much!

Well, that certainly does work... though I think the actual buttons are a bit dodgy as sometimes the light comes on and the door opens/locks and sometimes it doesnt.

If i resync the two again it works fine then it goes again. Strangeness!!!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Remote Central Locking Fob
« on: 04 May 2010, 22:51:31 »
Hi Everyone...

So my Omega has a key and a remote central locking key fob (two button). When I bought the car, the owner said the battery would need changing. It did need it and I did change it.

However, push the button (either of them), and nothing happens (other than the lights flashing on the fob).

Any ideas?

:) Excellent... well lesson learnt I think!!

halfords = crap
local trusted installers/engineers = the way to go!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Halfords (Exeter) Suck!!

Warning this post contains a rant!

<rant>
Ok... I know some of you will tell me off for going to Halfords but I did... I wanted a new radio, with iphone connectivity control and bluetooth and all things shiny...

I chose the stereo and opted for the same day install.
I was told to come back in 45 mins when it would all be done. Excellent news and KFC was consumed during my time away.

When I returned the little boy (yes that was meant to be sarcastic), who had fitted my new shiny radio said he could not fit the Microphone! [smiley=shocked.gif]

When I asked why his excuse was to do with the heating pipe matrix or something! Mmmm ok!

So, I was told to call Hydeparkcorner to get them to install it. Well... I did this online and they can only come out on the 17th May... that's weeks away and kinda makes it stupid to wait that long just for a mic to be installed.

I went to my local radio bloke this morning (Secure Sounds, based in Okehampton). Told him what happened and he said he'd do it there and then. It took 5 mins. Involved dropping down the fuse panel and a bit of contortion from the installer Mark and cost a simple £5.

So... why couldn't the Halfords trained tech do it.

Omega General Help / Re: the LPG works ............... sort of
« on: 13 August 2011, 09:12:49 »
Well... thats been an interesting read...

Sounds like the same problem I am having(ish).

I'm too scared to mess about with anything under the hood, so today she is off to Gas Power UK just outside of Exeter.

They are going to look at it and I'll let you know what they said if it's relevant!

Newbie Welcome Area / Witty Title Here... or just hi!

Hi Everyone.

I am the proud owner of a 2.5ltr V6 Omega!!
I've just changed from a Vectra and must say I LOVE this car!

I've just spent the morning wiring a "charger" up for my iPhone.
Having not done it before (not done any car stuff at all ever), I was not sure the best way to do it. So I went for back of the cig lighter socket. It all works well and power cuts when engine is off, which I wanted.

Next I think will be upgrading the lights... suggestions???
 :)

That's rather nice!!
It's on my list but not quite yet!!! Shame!

Russ: my eldest is patient and generally does as he's told. My youngest will be asleep for most long journeys. So all good!

Tunnie: yup out of base of headrest, tied to polls and into seat at top and all wiring sorted in back of chair.

Wireless headphones mean noise is nicely contained as well :)

Thanks Darren. Monitors are dirt cheap (2 for around £50 on ebay).

They need compatible input device (Thus the reason I chose a media player :D ).

Also worth noting that they have 2 inputs (AV1 and AV2), so would be possible to have Media player on one and game system on another....

It's certainly something I am thinking about as the rear seats are generally occupied by a 3 and 6 year old (We all have our crosses to bare HAHAHA - I joke).

First real test of the screens/media player/wireless headphones will be next week when we drive up to London.

I've already banned eating in any form from the car, so hopefully this will placate the kiddies some what.
