Remote Central Locking Fob
« on: 04 May 2010, 22:51:31 »

Hi Everyone...

So my Omega has a key and a remote central locking key fob (two button). When I bought the car, the owner said the battery would need changing. It did need it and I did change it.

However, push the button (either of them), and nothing happens (other than the lights flashing on the fob).

Any ideas?

it needs re-syncronising. Key in, ign on & press lock, doors lock and then unlock!  :y Done!  :y

Sorry for long reply... been working like a mad man last week or so!!!

Thank you very much!

Well, that certainly does work... though I think the actual buttons are a bit dodgy as sometimes the light comes on and the door opens/locks and sometimes it doesnt.

If i resync the two again it works fine then it goes again. Strangeness!!!

Sounds like the battery connection on the pcb inside is iffy. Martin Imber here on the forum has fixed loads for a reasonable fee.
PM him ..... I'm sure he'd be able to sort yours out  :y

I agree, my initial reaction would be batt holder soldering, but on those, possibly worth checking for poor contacts on holder, or even a duff battery.

Solenoid/motor in the door is u/s. Not too difficult to replace, just fiddly.  ;)
