..c20let will be lighter , easily gives 400 bhp and fits straight in..
Fits straight in? That's no fun!
Plus a 4 cylinder turbo engine would be 'wrong' for an Omega, unless you were building a stripped out track machine... (for drifting obviously as an Omega is never going to make a track day race car.)

Check your brake fluid level, just to be sure...

Omega General Help / Re: 4-Pot Petrol Specialist - Advice Needed

Its a 2001 Early Facelift 2.2 Petrol Auto Estate in Silver its suffering from a Mis-fire, Topend been rebuilt new waterpump, Cambelt and Auto box keeps going into Limp Mode?
Im bloody awful with Petrol lumps but the 'dangle berries' with Diesels lol Help needed me thinks
I'd go back to basics and start by checking for a spark at the end of each lead/coilpack, then re-check timing (it may have slipped since 'symes' last saw the vehicle).
It may also be worth checking all the fuses, which pins did you short out at the diagnostics plug?
Does the e.m.l. come on with the other lights at initial start up?
This is the pricing I'm getting for a 2.2. But for some reason not a camshaft sensor for the DTI on the site....

How weird but thankfully touch would no sensor faults on the DTi as of yet lol
There is no cam sensor on a 2.2 Vx. diesel.
Also any code reader that can talk to a Vx. diesel should be able to communicate with a 2.2 petrol easily.

just out of curiosity how much were you looking for it?
I'd guess at anywhere between £40 and £60 if this is the same clutch...

If I was faced with this problem on an Omega (with no knowledge of it's history) I would lay bets on it being the door locking motor in the drivers door. If I knew that someone had recently had a go at fixing it I would buy a new one to eliminate the unknown factor.

Next prime culprit is a broken spring in the lock mechanism allowing the lock button to drop when the drivers door is opened.

A problem with the door contact may have caused random buzzer noises but it isn't linked to the central locking.

I'm not sure but I think there is a link between the door pins and the central locking, I know the deadlocks wont engage until the drivers door has been opened after ignition off (same as the windows still work with the key removed until ddoor opened.)

Hi Kevin, when i say wires i'm talking about the spade terminals ie I am testing switch completely unplugged.
Do I take it that it is correct that the two spade terminals are connected by the switch when door open?
The two spade terminals are both connected to earth when the door is opened.

I really think an earth issue is the cause somewhere as now everything bar the doors locking has fixed so courtesy light goes off, the dead lock now works and i dont get wierd noises from the buzzer getting fed up of it tho, when we settle the baby in the car and pull up at home as soon as i open my door the locks go down waking baby and then you have to unlock them again which again wakes baby! we are now using the van as it is just too fustrating!
Try opening the door with the switch disconnected, see if the other doors still lock even though the cdl ecu doesn't know when the door has been opened.

...door switch had failed, it is a double switch ie two wires to it and one ground via the screw.

I am thinking back to my Mk.1 Astra and Nova days here (never needed to pay any attention to door pins on more recent vehicles) but I thought the wire(s) going to the switch carried the negative current from the interior light which then earthed out on the chassis as the door pin was operated?

As Jamie recently corrected me  ::) ::) ...... it appears to be a bit  more complicated than that. The wires to the doors pin switches are IIRC grey & grey/white, 'earths' on a Vauxhall are brown.
Direct earths are brown, not switched earths...

...the dead lock now works on locking and the courtesy light goes off, but on opening the drivers door the others all lock.

If the other doors lock as you swing open the drivers door then check for damage/wear to the wiring loom inside the rubber umbilical that carries the loom into the door from the car body.

Cant rember what model stereo I have, but its just the basic ... double Din unit, does it have any options to fit a sub woofer to it?
Nope.
You can get these...

...I'd disconnect the rear door speakers and feed the signal into the above gadget.

I don't know how these would look in an Omega dash but they seem a good price...
