Omega General Help / Climate buttons
« on: 09 November 2007, 13:15:35 »
Does anyone know of any company that has the capability of re-coating the facelift climate control buttons or even the company that Vx would have used to produce the panel in the first place?

Omega General Help / Re: Tyre choices on facelift Elite??
« on: 10 October 2007, 09:09:16 »
Got the Falken ZE 512's on mine and have lasted well , not bad in the wet but strangely enough feel odd occasionly on dry roads, but that could be just down to road surface as these wide tyres can give you some nightmares in the lorry tracks on motorways if you see what I mean, so, for the price not too bad a choice.

Cheers guys ,  this is what i have been thinking about these discs hence yesterday I ordered a dial gauge and will be checking run-out on Friday if they are out then , I shall be returning them under warranty back to National via local motor factor from where I bought them, must say I've used these National discs for years and had no problems with them in the past, but Hey this is an Omega and they like to create problems!! ;D

Omega General Help / braking issues
« on: 16 October 2007, 19:35:17 »
When applying the brakes (not particularly hard) at around the 60mph 'ish the steering wheel starts shaking (left and right as it were) rather than juddering, fitted new discs and pads and idler arm back in January, so hoping it's not the discs that are warping already after only 6,000 miles, has anyone had this with theirs and found the problem to be anything other than Discs, was under the car not so long ago and no other issues seemed apparent. any help appreciated .

Have you had the radio etc out at all recently? as you might have a trapped wire that has had the insulation bared due to vibration of car and is causing a short to ground

Omega General Help / Re: windows misting
« on: 21 September 2007, 20:51:31 »
Thanks for all the replies lads, did find the scuttle drainage on nearside partially blocked and pollen filter not at its best (replaced). For any one that's interested, i found clearing out the the drainage was best achieved from the wheel arch area using a coat hanger followed by some twin and earth cable then ceaning the scuttle area out with paper towelling, , now clean as a whistle down there and water drains out immediately in fact so much so it shoots down into teh inner wing tray as it were as well! photo below shows where I accesed the hole.

Omega General Help / windows misting

Had the air-con on for quite a while yesterday, but needed just a bit more power up some hills so pressed the ECO button and within seconds windows were misting up, so had to press Auto button again, any ideas why this is, is it something to do with residue from aircon in the vents and then not being cooled as it were? just hoping I've got no other issues here; the Pollen filter was changed a while back and no water collecting in scuttle area (drain holes clear)

The other annoying thing it does......is floor it on uphill slope....then level out....it can be reving at 4-5k revs.....it wont change up until i release the accelarator....even tho its doing 4-5k revs on level ground and not increasing in speed.....take my foot off.....it changes up then i can apply the power again  >:(

That's what mine was doing before the v.10 upgrade, strange why yours is still doing it with the same upgrade.
The Boy , when you say VOA (v.10) what is the VOA bit ?

Taxidriver, mine used to do that even up a less than moderate slope and thrash it's nuts off until on the downward slope, since the V.10 gearbox upgrade it doesn't do that anymore, what version software does yours have?

Hi mate, had it upgraded to version. 10 a while back and as you say it has improved it but is still there, 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd are always ok in traffic, probably just another thing I'll have to put up with with these damn cars, God I need to win the Lottery  and get a proper well built car!!  ;D
