Did you receive my PM? That could help cut down some expense

Keith ABS
Hi Keith, yes i did much appreciated. But they sound a tad expensive(as they are high speck)for my car. Also i still don't feel i have the confidence to do this myself,no one up here to help and the local garages taking the piss.To be honest its not the expense so much,as the inconvenience of driving 400 mile round trip. For what would be an hours work(for Serek)then driving back, having said that i am loathed to pay the extortionate quotes the garages up here want. :-\ .Dean.

Hi all,no probs ronnyd.Unfortunately as there are no members up here to help me,i went to a garage one street away.Asked how much to change the leads, he did not look to enthusiastic.£200 not including vat or parts he would let me know the price of the parts. :o :o.He said there is a lot to come off to get to the coil pack.So it looks like it will be a trip to serek.

After all that. ;D ;D
To be fair ronnyd,i look at it like this.If you know fick all about brain surgery don't say you do and cut someones head open.I am not a mechanic, and this may be an easy job for someone with experience. But i don't have a clue where to start with this,i work in electronics so i am not thick. So i will leave it to someone who knows what they are doing, but if you feel the need to take the piss no problem.Dean.

This is more or less what you need, just change one at a time you'll be fine  ...... it's just a bit of a reach to the back of the engine.
Thanks Andy,i think if i tried this there would be a asda bag full of leftover bits ;D.As i say i would not know where to start, and i have no confidence in the mechanics up here  :-\

Do it yourself,. Remove 1 and replace 1, then no chances of mucking up, would think there's even a guide.
I would not even know where to start :-[,have looked but cant find a guide.Dean.

Hi all, hope your all well.A couple of questions i would like to ask, first can anyone tell me the make or part number.I need for the plug leads on my 1995 3.0l omega, the reason for this is that when i recently visited Serek.I gave him a long list of jobs i wanted doing,he did them all bar the plug leads. As i was only with him for a set time he did not get round to them, because i needed the car to get back to Hartlepool. My second question is there any members within say 50 to 70 miles,of Hartlepool that could fit them for me.Serek said they need doing as the oil in the plug wells has fried them,i am willing to pay/help.If not its a trip back to Sereks place. Thanks Dean :y

To Serek, for all his hard work on my car.I gave him a long list of things i wanted done,he did them and some more.Got the car Mot'd and even changed the heater matrix.(so now i don't have to were my coat in the car) ;D.Well worth the 400 mile round trip for 3 reasons,1 he knows what he is doing so its done right.2 At a great price, and 3 he is a really nice guy.So again mate thanks it was a pleasure to meet you,i will see you soon.Kind Regards Dean. :y

ALL the breakdown companies have areas where the service is shockingly poor. AA and RAC will always try to use their own staff before a subcontractor, even if that means a wait. Green Flag used to be the best of the bunch but now they don’t use local garages they’re not always so hot.

I would be looking at something underwritten by Britannia Rescue or AXA. The ones handled by a company called Call Assist are pretty good too :y Basically, anything handled by local garages and preferably a company that doesn’t have any of its own breakdown staff/vehicles ;)

Britannia would be top of my list: they send the job, and expect the contractor to just deal with it.
Green Flag's service got a lot worse when they went to just one contractor covering a large area a few years ago.

we regularly used to get a dozen RAC jobs sent at 18:00 when they realised that their own people were due to finish and couldn't get to them without another 3 hours wait.

And 2 1/2 years after quitting the job, I'd still like to stick red hot needles in Call Assist's controllers - I don't think I ever did one of their jobs that wasn't grief from start to finish.

Yep. I believe Green Flag are looking at returning to smaller operators.

RAC are just a law unto themselves.

Call Assist aren’t too bad now, but we only deal with misfuel issues.
Hi all,how the fick do you miss fuel. It's diesel or petrol. ;D

My neighbour is a copper. I asked him about it & he says that plod generally give people about 6 weeks grace for no MOT.  :-\

Been under the car this afternoon & with exception of a clip holding a panel in place at the side of the centre Brabus exhaust being dislodged, all is really as it should be. I suppose it says something of Smart in the fact that 850kg stood up to 2 tonne plus of LR
Fukcing hell,that can't be right.Dean.
