My local independant is also £16 for the lot - but £10 for cash!

A friend of mine runs his Volvo estate alsmost exclusively on fryer oil sourced from a  school canteen.  He just filters it and chucks it in, smokes like a good-un and smells like Grimsby docks but its free fuel.  Done this for several years with no problems.

Gearbox solenoid is 'in hand'

Not much good 'in hand' - needs to be 'in box'!  ;D

Yeah, Mr DTM is fab, a real star and always willing to help.  Top guy.  Can't sing his praises highly enough.....

Now, when can you fit in my crank seal and look over my gearbox bro?.... :y

I would have to say my Calibra V6, it had a few tweeks so went nicely and turned a few heads  :y

Yep, agree with that - except for me it's my current daily driver.  Makes me want to go to work in the morning, but I look forward to the drive home even more!

Yep, that is true they rarely fail.  My comment was more directed at the performance although they are suprisingly nippy in the low gears

Just bought a new centre (vaux) & tail pipe (aftermarket) for my V6 Calibra and that was £140 trade, parts only so £300 to get it all done sounds about right.

Although there are a lot of similarities with the cav there are also a number of difference.  My Cali certainly handles a LOT different to my old cav.  The only thing that would put me off is the 8V engine....

So looking forward to a est next weekend!  ;D

Just the small issue of the fairy lights in the Calibra to resolve, so might bring that one up for you...  You know you won't be able to leave it alone!

Mr DTM's big hammer trick is a genetic thing.

Looking forward to some top hospitality myself next weekend, just compiling the list of jobs....

Not me, a bit of rust but mine's (on the whole) blue.

I think I've seen the one you mean around town - must be local

General Car Chat / Calibra V6 - Christmas lights early
« on: 22 September 2009, 15:45:14 »
When I get in my Calibra in the morning & start it up the whole of the upper left hand bank of check control warning lights light up and flash sequentially across the row, but without any consistent repetition. The car runs fine and the nature of the flashing doesn't give me any cause for concern but obviously its a bit odd. After 5 mins driving (sometimes less) it stops.

Could it be a dodgy earth, if so where??  Also someone mentioned the check control module behind the glove box, but not sure what it looks like

I will also be in the lakes this weekend but sadly not at the meet..... So if you're stuck next to my silver estate in the inevitable Friday night M6 traffic jam give me a wave.

Have a top weekend everyone.
