Ok. Tow bar received. Looking at the witter instruction that was linked above, it seems to be missing the Short Cross Bar. Part "A".

Aside from the suck test with the EGR out, and the pulsing vac that I can feel from the pipe, how can I test this?

Ta for the quick reply..
There is a pulsing vacuum coming from the EGR actuator..

Hi..
I've spent a few hours reading through various posts, and all have been helpful. I've learnt quite a lot! :)
Ok, this is what I have.
When the engine is idling, the EML comes on, with a 0400 code. (EGR Flow etc)
Once I move off, (in limp mode I might add) and get some load behind it, the light goes off, and normality resumes..

I have checked all vac pipes. All rubber elbows are ok, and fitted nicely. In checking the vac pipes, I can confirm that there is vacuum..
The EGR is ok, and has been cleaned.. It actuates nicely if i suck on the pipe.
The MAF has been replaced with a new one, just in case.
One thing I cant seem to check if the swirl flaps, but without taking the manifold off, I'm unsure how.

I have disconnected the vac pipe to the EGR to make sure that it's definitely seated when idling, and it still throws up the error..

Is there anything else I can try? Would the swirl flaps bring up that error, or do they have their own set of codes?

I have an MOT on Saturday...
Thanks in advance...
Doug.

Omega General Help / Vacuum Pipes

Hi.
My EML has come on again (EGR Related. EML on at idle), and I'm dam sure its those pesky pipes again..
Is there some where I can buy a roll or piping, so that I can just replace the lot? Also the rubber elbows?

Thanks

EGR, MAF and fuel filter changed. It still goes into limp mode under load at 2k revs.. I found one vac pipe split, but that cured an idling issue..
Any ideas what happens at 2k revs?

Possible lack of fuel - filter?
It's that in the engine bay.

It seems to be over 2k revs under load, and if I drive on a flat like a fairy for a bit, the eml goes off..

Omega General Help / EML under load..
« on: 01 October 2013, 22:36:12 »
It's been 6years since I had an Omega, and was on this site!
And now I have another! :)
I have just per-chased a lovely little number..
an '02 CD 2.2TDi Silver
Love the car.. BUT.....
The EML comes on under load.. Cruising on the motorway, it's fine. But if the road inclines, and I need to put a little pressure on the accelerator, the EML comes on, and it limps.. Struggles up the hill, and 4th gear beckons.
It is also on when idling.. I have a ODB2 reader etc, but strangely no codes are pulled, even with the EML on?
MPG's are in the 50s, and it doesn't splutter, misfire or anything.. Without the EML lit, it's pretty quick, but if I ask too much, blam, no guts.

Any ideas?

Anyway, I'm glad to be back!

Omega General Help / Re: Radiator fan??

The top plug on mine, controls the engine bay fuse box fan, and the main big rad fan... (Sensor died yesterday in the hot weather, so had to bridge it..)

I would check for fault codes first ,look for the dreaded 19 (crank sensor) :y
I can do that one now cant I! BAck in 10!!
The ONLY error I get is
135   Telltale (Checklight) Voltage Low
Now I thought that was the EML itself...
