Omega General Help / Re: Brake loss whilst driving 😱😱😱

Did you disconnect the pipes and not bleed them properly? could you have possibly flipped the master cylinder seals when pushing the pistons back in, often heard of it but took it as an urban myth as i've never come across it actually happening :-\
Not urban myth but only delco master cylinders usually only on early mk3 Astra's.

I would agree with clutch

When my 03 dti's pump started playing up it would either just die or no power and only rev to 3k.
Found it would cut out more when hot (turn off ignition count to 3 and restart).
Was also worse if fuel low.

General Car Chat / Re: LED headlights.
« on: 06 May 2014, 21:54:04 »
Had new Merc cls in for repair few weeks back and needed a new led headlamp, and got hold of old one to see how they work.
Very heavy compared to normal headlamps.
Each of the main leds had large ally heatsinks on the back, 2 electric fans for cooling, wiring everywhere and several control units.
Only a tad over £1200  :D

According to the ICI paint manager there are two variants.

In 2008 they brought out a darker version.

Early code : VAN7B  ;D
later code :  2XJBB

As far as I remember they all superceded to the later part numbers

Got a 03 dti and it pulls big ifor williams trailer better than 2.5v6 i had  ;D
Don't expect much over 40 mpg on a run and less around town, injection pump ecu does seem weakest part mine started playing up 10000 miles ago.
Its done 110k now and doesn't use any oil and loads of space under bonnet  ;D

Even though i moan about it averages mpg a v6 can only dream of  :y

General Car Chat / Re: Tyre width, shock fouling
« on: 14 July 2012, 22:01:55 »
Surely tyre when at top will of returned to normal, thats why low pressure causes more flexing of sidewall and creates more heat in tyre at speed.
If there was any chance of problem vx wouldn't of fitted 235/45 17 for so long, it would of caused a massive recall!
I worked in dealerships for over 10 years and never heard of any tyre rubbing  :y
