I'm kind of a Luddite when computers are involved, but the tech support son will make this happen ASAP. Thanks for all advice.

So you're saying the MAF is what is causing the O2 sensors to get no reading on one side and that the MAF is also causing the rich mixture? Should I buy two Bank 1 and 2 sensor 1 O2 sensors, just so I can be prepared if a new MAF doesn't shut the CEL down? It would sure be nice to finish this task, winterize my and the wife's cars and not worry until Spring. I guess all I have to do is spend $7500 down and $750 monthly and I'll be done with 99.9999% of my auto worrys, right? Hah. After 38 years in the business including 14 in senior management, I've learned there is no such thing as trouble-free motoring no matter what you pay. Machines break.

I disconnected the MAF and car runs w/o hesitation and seemingly more power. The Check engine light is still on. Can I clean the MAF sensors with the same cleaner I use for delicate circuits in computers and audio components? Or is replacement the only solution? Or do I need O2 sensors as well as a new MAF?

I should add that on my car the temp controls are not integrated into the radio/tape/CD unit. Are yours?

Yes, it is a Catera. I thought it would make translation easier if I branded it an Omega. Neither unit has phone but they both have a theft warning phrase on the face by the Bose label.

I'm hoping you folks across the pond can help me keep this car going as no one here has a clue as to how to repair them. I was quoted $2000 to change cam seals, which tells me they really didn't want to do it unless they did a wallet biopsy first. :)

I can get a combo unit from a local wrecking yard, but I've heard the theft lock system will render the replacement unit useless w/o proper codes. If so, how to switch so I can have CD capability and stock look to dash?

My car has recently been bucking a little as though my timing is abnormal or the mix is rich. Codes pulled-100 101 154 172 175. Should I clean MAF or go to O2 sensors first? Thank you in advance for any advice.
