Have successfully done this with one of my keys. Swapped the guts from the original key, new blade cut. Works perfectly!

Obvs you don't no what you are talking about. I am looking for information on:

forged pistons
forged rods
uprated bearings
etc etc etc....

Someone needs to work on their personal skills!  :-[ :-[ :-[

Is it normal for the head unit to switch off in one mode and switch on in another mode?

(switch off ignition with Radio playing and switch ignition back on later and CD plays)

That's what mine does sometimes!

Same here. It just happens, but not all the time. No sleep lost over it.

That's put my mind at rest then  :y :y :y

On a different note, is it normal for the head unit to switch off in one mode and switch on in another mode?

General Car Chat / Re: Car tax query

If you've taxed it online, surely the ANPR wouldn't trigger because you're legal.

I've been pulled several times in recent years for "no tax" even though I'd taxed it in the week beforehand. The system seems conveniently slow to update itself. Unless your in the wrong then I'm sure it would spot it straight away!

Were the "recent years" before ANPR?

It was ANPR flagging it each time according to the copper(s) They'd then radio through to "make sure" lol

Smacks of someone chasing quotas to me mate!

JamesV6CDX did mine and did a great job! He's based around Gloucester I think but he agreed to travel to Walsall to do mine.
Will have to give him a message did he charge you extra to come to Walsall as I need my cam covers and cam belt done

He just asked me to make a contribution for fuel (£30) He's also done my cam covers too.

Totally recommend him!

did the car have a hand free car kit in it  if so that's probably the connections to the stereo for it

I would say that's probably a good call!

Don't beat yourself up Rog! You've obviously acted professionally and properly. I'm sure the patients who need this kit would rather have serviceable kit and a reputable supplier to back it up. Fingers crossed you get the contract to supply and maintain!

I don't think it was wrongly mounted. The hooks that locks it in to the cap where facing outwards. But I think that the other end facing the block were stuck to the face of the filter and It might have been twisted when I screwed the cap off. The filter sort of hanged in there and I had to pull it out.

But I'm not sure about that, filter was anyway very worn and old. Flow through it must have been minimal.

Jan

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the hooks designed to lock into place INSIDE the holder, i.e. not showing?
